I've been under the assumption those four would top 5 this whole poll but been unable to come up with the fifth. I was hoping it would be DJ Quik.

Kind of surprised at lack of Wild Beasts though.

I found Eye Contact to be a considerable step down from St. Dymphna, but there are still a couple of undeniable jams on it.

Between Beyonce and PJ for #1? Not that I'd have predicted any of this so far so I wouldn't put money even on that.

i said at the very beginning it was beyonce , pj harvey and katy b for the top 3 and im staying with it.

It's far from being the best Kate Bush album but I reckon a lot of people would have put it somewhere a bit outside their top ten. Wouldn't be surprised if it got more actual votes than most of the others, even if they weren't very high.

The only thing that surprises me about that potential top 5 is Katy B -- did not realize she was so popular. I should probably listen to the album -- I really like "Katy on a Mission," and the tracks that showed up on the tracks poll were pretty good, too.

would love it if the King Creosote and Jon Hopkins album made it, but I doubt it. So beautiful and moving.

I got the Hatchback album and it is really gorgeous. I would have absolutely voted for that.

GGD album is solid - not top 10 for me, but I did vote for it.

Again, I like the Kate Bush album well enough (voted for "Wild Man" in tracks) but it didn't make my ballot.

i think even more than metal vinyl is bands like tool, pearl jam, mars volta...that shit goes haywire.

Katy B has the pop and dance factors nailed, plus she's got underground/indie cred - could be aligning factors

I'm really happy about Gang Gang Dance and DJ Quik both hitting the top ten, and the Pistol Annies is pretty good too. No idea there was such a following for the latter here, although I never read the rolling country thread.

Still prefer Crazy Ex-Girlfriend for Miranda action though.

You know, the two things that totally knocked me out in the tracks poll was the Blawan track and Beyonce's 'Countdown'. There's been this trend in r'n'b/pop lately to incorporate loads of big trance rushes and breakdowns and it's never done anything for me, but this is how you make a fucking pop song. I was spellbound by her Glastonbury performance when I watched it on telly earlier this year, and now I have 4 and am very much looking forward to checking it out properly.

Prediction: Destroyer won't place
