Replica might not be as good as Returnal but it still was very good and worthy in its own right.

Frank Ocean got more concentrated listening over 3 months than any other record I listened to this year. Don't go back to it much now but loved it hard.

Armand Schaubroeck Ratfucker, Wednesday, 1 February 2012 21:08 (fourteen years ago)

this is actually the liberating part of my whole music collection dying - so many of these albums were in my itunes, and i kept them for..."work purposes" maybe? just in case? and now i realise they need never be in there again

first period don't give a fuck, second period gon get cut (lex pretend), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 21:08 (fourteen years ago)

i'm possibly not even gonna be around tomorrow - will prob need to leave the house at 7pm GMT

Backtracking a bit, I really liked the Araabmuzik album, especially the cheesiest bits. Not sure it's a musical direction that I'd be waiting to see develop all that much, but it was good fun as trashy genre hijacking.

Phibes Kartel (NickB), Wednesday, 1 February 2012 21:09 (fourteen years ago)

lol omar

Frank Ocean album is p great apart from that Hotel California bullshit

if by "p great" you mean "staggeringly brilliant", then yes. and that hotel california bullshit really is. bullshit i mean. i mean it's bullshit. anyway, great album, in my top 5, way too low here.

I hadn't heard of this Colin Stetson record, but watching a clip right now from CBC and it's stunning! Thanks voters for pointing me toward it.

Colin Stetson is great but missed my ballot due to not quite enough listening to it before the vote finished. Did vote for 'Judges' in the tracks poll, though.
