I don't entirely understand why the word "beach" automatically gets thrown around w/r/t stuff like "Snooze 4 Love." It feels rather chilly to me.

ppl are making Ibiza rave associations

Only heard Countdown yesterday, but it's such an amazing song. Totally curveballing sidewinding mindfucking fantastic pop.

well, the Scandinavian disco-ish scene has had a balearic/beach-vibe fetish for a while now

what does the beach symbolize to this generation of non-surfers

crüt, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:15 (fourteen years ago)

wow i thought this would be higher - i guess B suffered vote-splitting though

my #1: i kept it off my other ballots b/c i don't like to vote for trax by an artist whose album i've voted for, but i realised that the extent that this dominated my 2011 as a track was undeniable

BOOF BOOF

first period don't give a fuck, second period gon get cut (lex pretend), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:16 (fourteen years ago)

bit bored of countdown now because I caned it so much last year, but yeah BOOF BOOF

prolego, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:16 (fourteen years ago)

Neither "1+1" nor "Countdown" are among my top three tracks from 4.

jaymc, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:18 (fourteen years ago)

I voted for "End of Time" but this song has definitely won me over

ban dejar (Drugs A. Money), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:19 (fourteen years ago)

well, the Scandinavian disco-ish scene has had a balearic/beach-vibe fetish for a while now

See, I def. get beach vibes from Air France.

jaymc, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:19 (fourteen years ago)

lol I think "Countdown" is actually my #4

(top 3 being "End of Time", "I Miss You", "I Care")

I spend a lot of time thinking about apricots (DJP), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:19 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, the video seems specifically designed to spawn a thousand animated gifs.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:19 (fourteen years ago)

Beyonce rarely ticks my pop boxes but "Countdown" is undeniably great.

CJ Fam Club (seandalai), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:20 (fourteen years ago)

(top 3 being "End of Time", "I Miss You", "I Care")

"Party," "Rather Die Young," "Love on Top"

jaymc, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:20 (fourteen years ago)

Webbie really didn't get the credit he deserved on this thread

crüt, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:22 (fourteen years ago)

when she sings DAMN I THINK I LOVE THAT BOY / DO ANYTHING FOR THAT BOY, i imagine her hiding her mouth behind her hand on the second line as though she's telling you a secret that she can barely contain <3

first period don't give a fuck, second period gon get cut (lex pretend), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:22 (fourteen years ago)

"countdown" was i think the only track on my p&j ballot that i felt compelled to shoehorn in despite also voting for the album

J0rdan S., Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:22 (fourteen years ago)

my 4 top 3: "countdown", "schoolin' life", "1+1". i am ilm, it appears

first period don't give a fuck, second period gon get cut (lex pretend), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:23 (fourteen years ago)

I gotta admin I have a problem with "Countdown" - it's got a lot of hooks, every and each of them is pretty but there's too much of them! I still can't wrap my head around it, but when it finally happens I think I'm gonna die from happiness.

also, Bey looks so gorgeous in the video <3

V79, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:23 (fourteen years ago)

think this is happiest i've ever seen you on an end of year poll lex

Number None, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:24 (fourteen years ago)

Lay Up Under Me would be my third, along with Countdown and 1+1.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:24 (fourteen years ago)

my last.fm stats for "countdown" tell a story of glorious, happy obsession http://www.last.fm/user/lexpretend/library/music/Beyoncé/_/Countdown

first period don't give a fuck, second period gon get cut (lex pretend), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:24 (fourteen years ago)

"love on top" "dance for you" "end of time"

"dance for you" really crept up on me, it really is marvelous. booty popping at the altar.

DO NOT CALL (The Brainwasher), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:24 (fourteen years ago)

BOOF BOOF

first period don't give a fuck, second period gon get cut (lex pretend), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:25 (fourteen years ago)

"countdown", "love on top" and "1 + 1"

uberweiss, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:25 (fourteen years ago)

'countdown' 'end of time' 'schoolin' life'

donna rouge, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:25 (fourteen years ago)

that would probably be mine too

Number None, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:26 (fourteen years ago)

I want your nose, your shoes and your unicycle (dog latin), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:27 (fourteen years ago)

OK, wait, I'm listening to "Schoolin' Life" for the first time now (it's not on the version of the album I have): this is pretty hot.

jaymc, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:27 (fourteen years ago)

the bonus tracks are essential

Number None, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:27 (fourteen years ago)

Like Schoolin' Life was okay, but not like this.

I want your nose, your shoes and your unicycle (dog latin), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:28 (fourteen years ago)

lyrically... it's really one of terius' finest moments, so many, really hits the right spot between goofy and weird and touchingly romantic... the entire "countdown" part of "countdown" especially

the production on the song is crazy, it really feels like something from the heyday of the mid-decade

J0rdan S., Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:28 (fourteen years ago)

i can't believe how beyoncé just does everything perfectly: sings "tryna make a 3 from the 2" and then of course gets pregnant just in time for the video <3 <3 <3

first period don't give a fuck, second period gon get cut (lex pretend), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:28 (fourteen years ago)

I'm not even done listening to "Schoolin' Life," but I like it quite a bit better than "Countdown."

jaymc, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:28 (fourteen years ago)

Lay Up Under Me was one of the non-album tracks too. Give it a whirl, jaymc!

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:29 (fourteen years ago)

"dance for you" was a bonus track too and i wholeheartedly cosign the love for that fucking epic thing

FOR THE MOOLAH
FOR THE POWER
(of love)

first period don't give a fuck, second period gon get cut (lex pretend), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:30 (fourteen years ago)

beyoncé in a couplet

prolego, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:30 (fourteen years ago)

all of the bonus tracks are better than most of the songs on teh album tbqh

J0rdan S., Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:31 (fourteen years ago)

schoolin' life is untouchable. should've been released and been #1 everywhere. i don't even care that she's just playing to every demographic, it's the most generous thing ever.

prolego, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:31 (fourteen years ago)

this is BEYOND sex

DO NOT CALL (The Brainwasher), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:31 (fourteen years ago)

eh, I don't really think the bonus tracks are essential at all

I spend a lot of time thinking about apricots (DJP), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:32 (fourteen years ago)

all of the bonus tracks are better than most of the songs on teh album tbqh

factual statement of fact
