xx/Sure Thing analogy was meant simply to illustrate a song that many ppl felt indifferent towards at first but then grew to love intensely.

sorry if it was distracting

love this but ended up voting for ragysh

Dan S, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:03 (fourteen years ago)

ha can't keep up with this thread.

pleased to see miguel place so high.

all the corny similes stacked up on top of each other are key to its appeal imo, it creates this tension of miguel trying so hard to find the right way to put into words something that you can't put into words.

this is so OTM.

also true that it doesn't quite hit at first. when it did finally click for me, it ironically coincided with a pretty brutal break-up. :(

snooze #1 love

x-posts
there is something uncanny about it huh? i think i ended up preferring ragysh but really cool to see this place so high.

jabba hands, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:03 (fourteen years ago)

snooze 4 love yessssssss

donna rouge, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:04 (fourteen years ago)

A lot of ILMers probably like/don't mind "Rolling in the Deep," but I doubt that anyone's all that passionate about it
^this. Scraped into my Freaky Trigger poll ballot, but not my ILM one.

haha #78!!

Jeff W, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:04 (fourteen years ago)

i love ragysh, too, possibly more, but i couldn't help going with the strategic vote for mr terje

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:05 (fourteen years ago)

There's nothing you could do to improve Snooze 4 Love at all. It is basically perfect for what it's trying to do.

Also one fifth of all voters voted for it, that's amazing.

Matt DC, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:05 (fourteen years ago)

adele @ #78 is a joke imo

this countdown has entered the realm of the truly mysterious to me

blurgh (jjjusten), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:06 (fourteen years ago)

It's driving me crazy how the portamento only kicks in on the top 2 notes of the arpeggio. Or maybe he's just put the two notes really close together and not quantized them. But it's a sound that is both jarring and yet slightly exciting, like, I listen out for it every time to see if I can work it out. Manages to be both expected and unexpected. Clever.

Snooze4Love is the only one so far that I've voted for, I think

Woucher! (Nasty, Brutish & Short), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:07 (fourteen years ago)

IF Snooze 4 Love is perfect for what it's trying to do I guess I'm not interested in what it wants to achieve. Pretty dull for too long, and once it gets going I've lost interest. Such is life.

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:07 (fourteen years ago)

I don't fully understand how this got to #5?

I mean, it's nice and all, and that's about it...?

"Snooze 4 Love" just missed my ballot, but I played it again yesterday and realised it should have been there...

mike t-diva, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:09 (fourteen years ago)

lots of people like it and it appeals to different voting contingents xp

I suppose it was sitting on New Answers next to the phrase MASTERPIECE ALERT for the whole year.

Gonna predict:

4. Azealia
3. Beyonce
2. Lana
1. Nicki

Matt DC, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:09 (fourteen years ago)

I don't know that I ever let this track play all the way through on previous listens -- it does settle into a nice groove halfway through.

jaymc, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:09 (fourteen years ago)

and Studio broke up xp

CJ Fam Club (seandalai), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:09 (fourteen years ago)

Undeniable track. Perfect, except too short.

abcfsk, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:10 (fourteen years ago)

want to be on a beach right now ughhh

donna rouge, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:10 (fourteen years ago)

I think Inspector Norse is going to be big on 2012 trax poll

Dan S, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:10 (fourteen years ago)

in retrospection, I regret I didn't vote for "Snooze". that's one case of wonderful programming

V79, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:11 (fourteen years ago)

"ragysh" is basically...just as good, right? a bit more driving and a bit less pretty but man that EP was something else

I don't entirely understand why the word "beach" automatically gets thrown around w/r/t stuff like "Snooze 4 Love." It feels rather chilly to me.

Was thinking the other day that Swing Star has a plausible shot at being my #1 next year.

CJ Fam Club (seandalai), Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:13 (fourteen years ago)

mad love for ragysh but the portamento/grace notes thing really makes s4l special

Huh, Snooze 4 Love is another song I have never heard before, but much prefer its clean forward-moving vibe than the crying in the club vibe.

I did vote and applaud for Britney though because she is way beyond crying. She's just waiting for it all to end and having fun in the meantime.

La Lechera, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:14 (fourteen years ago)

If I had my ballot to do over again, this would've been my #2 behind "Heaven"...

I'm ducking out - not interested in what order these next four pop up - but thanks to Johnny and seandalai for doing the hard work. Well done gents!

well, the Scandinavian disco-ish scene has had a balearic/beach-vibe fetish for a while now

what does the beach symbolize to this generation of non-surfers

crüt, Thursday, 26 January 2012 19:15 (fourteen years ago)

wow i thought this would be higher - i guess B suffered vote-splitting though

my #1: i kept it off my other ballots b/c i don't like to vote for trax by an artist whose album i've voted for, but i realised that the extent that this dominated my 2011 as a track was undeniable

BOOF BOOF
