The Destroyer album would probably have made my top 50 if I'd done one. Don't love it or hate it.

Not sure he (or rather his keyboardist, who composed most of this track) is going for balearic as much as new-age movie soundtrack. Reminds me of, like, Dave Grusin in places.

i do think that this song could be a good gateway drug for people who didn't know they wanted to hear 20 min songs...that's something.

wiki says this song is supposed to be only 7 mins, not the 20 mins that the Youtube seems to imply

Okay, this Destroyer thing lasts for 19 minutes and begins with some synth drones (had to get my headphones so I get to listen to this stuff) that sound like early 90s ambient... Is the rest of the song like that too? I didn't know so many ILXors like ambient.

I also listened to "Yonkers", and I just don't get it. Is this kind of teenage angsty stuff + Co Flow style beats some new form of undie rap that I haven't heard of? Basically, I've nothing against juvenile tunes if they're about sex or partying or drugs, stuff adults can relate to too, but this tune isn't like that at all.

I mean, I have listened to "Carnage Visors" on repeat multiple times in my life; you could have removed the entire ambient 4 minute prologue and had a much, much better track IMO

the "Nagel's Marimba" section is really nice and soothing and "The Laziest River" part is starting out well, too

I didn't know so many ILXors like ambient.
1) i think some people didn't know that they did before this song came into their lives and/or
2) those of us who do like ambient don't pipe up much because we are quiet fans?

I am the laziest listener because I jumped around that song looking for a tune and just gave up after 20 seconds of a slowed down version of The Boys Of Summer backing track.

Nah... Most adults still party and have sex at least once in a while, but few are still mad at their mom and girlfriend for "not understanding them", or whatever that tune was about.

I like this girl's stuff, but I couldn't tell you which track was which off the album. Makes me think of 90s femme-grunge with all the drums removed, which is pretty much what it is I guess.

i gave the ema album a try and it didn't really click, kept meaning to go back but never did. it's not clicking now either but i've just been for a run and am too full of endorphins for this, i think

also her name just makes me think of the educational maintenance allowance, the cutting of which has been a political hot button issue of late here
