"sade" is great obv, but my fav DDM thing from this year was their cover/mash-up of "no ordinary love"

SO OTM. It's like the perfect music tailor made for me.
― DO NOT CALL (The Brainwasher), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:05 (fourteen years ago)
I can't go that far with it, but as someone who generally hasn't given a shit about Sean Combs in over a decade, I was shocked by how much I loved the album.
― jon /via/ chi 2.0, Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:07 (fourteen years ago)
Not really sure I'm feeling the love for the 2NE1 thing. I did like the bit with the machine guns, other than that it's girls aloud with a bloghouse soundtrack. Maybe just not my bag..
― I want your nose, your shoes and your unicycle (dog latin), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:08 (fourteen years ago)
it's girls aloud with a bloghouse soundtrack
haha and you fail to see how this fits into the ILM wheelhouse????????

Really glad KRIT placed, it was in my top five. Struggling to think of any rap beyond Yonkers and Gucci Gucci that has a chance of placing from here on though.
there's definitely one i can think of
― the emancipation of me-me (tpp), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:13 (fourteen years ago)
thinking of the same 1

― DO NOT CALL (The Brainwasher), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:15 (fourteen years ago)
Would Beastin' have a chance or not?
― Mohombi Khush Hua (ShariVari), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:16 (fourteen years ago)
i think kush groove will place, too though

goin way back but:
If none of the dance people were voting for Jacques Greene, then who was?
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, January 25, 2012 3:21 PM (2 hours ago)
i voted for it. i can't explain the absurd pleasure of listening to it in the right place and time. idk, maybe its just because i didn't care for dubstep and didn't pay much attention to most post-dubstep that "another girl" works for me. i tend to just skim the tracks i like off the top of their respective micro-genres and completely ignore the rest.

Doubt it, talking about the e40 track right? Yeah vote splitting on that album for sure, Beastin wasn't even in my top 10 E-40 tracks last year.
― SOPA/PILLA (Spottie_Ottie_Dope), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:21 (fourteen years ago)
Wasn't available for comment earluer but really loving the countdown so far. A little bit for everyone, good job ILM.
I voted for Nyan Cat despite my hate for it. Memes are a thing to treasure. Almost voted for Lotus Flower and Friday on this principle.
― Moka, Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:23 (fourteen years ago)
xp I guess the album has more of a chance of a high placing. Beastin' got the dedicated thread, though.
I have to admit that i voted for I Love My Momma instead.
― Mohombi Khush Hua (ShariVari), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:23 (fourteen years ago)
hey where have i heard "another girl" before? i know i've heard this song before but the artist seems to be totally unfamiliar to me - was this on some mix?
― tebow gotti (k3vin k.), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:25 (fourteen years ago)
The sample is from Ciara's remix/cover of Chris Brown's Deuces
― Number None, Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:28 (fourteen years ago)
no actually i have just heard this song before, i just hadn't remembered. it bangs
― tebow gotti (k3vin k.), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:31 (fourteen years ago)
it was in a lot of mixes too
― Number None, Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:32 (fourteen years ago)

And probably Adele if the voters weren't as burnt out on her songs as I am.
― Moka, Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:32 (fourteen years ago)

i don't know if you listen to my mixes kev but I used it in one i made
― DO NOT CALL (The Brainwasher), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:33 (fourteen years ago)
Also don't get the love for the Wilco song. It's pleasant sounding (perhaps too pleasant) but I would have thought that a song in the adult contempo scene like say Sandro Perri's Changes would place over Wilco... or even Destroyer.
― Moka, Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:34 (fourteen years ago)
to me "Sade" is made up of really wonderful ingredients that ultimate result in a song too busy and complex for its own good-- pretty much how i felt about the rest of DDM
wish diddy could learn how to just chill
― ⚓ (gr8080), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:35 (fourteen years ago)
i will never understand Katy B
i will never not love Robyn
Also everyone who has loved the Invisible Conga People song should check out their first single from a few years back. One of my favorite songs from the past decade:

― I want your nose, your shoes and your unicycle (dog latin), Wednesday, 25 January 2012 23:44 (fourteen years ago)
idk, it feels right that Nyan Cat - like "Friday" - should be represented in the poll, just for the way it was such a part of 2011's musical landscape? (Though aren't the votes for "Friday" as much for the ilx thread as they are for track itself???)
― DavidM, Thursday, 26 January 2012 00:11 (fourteen years ago)
lmfao, whose musical landscape would that be?
― tebow gotti (k3vin k.), Thursday, 26 January 2012 00:13 (fourteen years ago)
yeah i've never even heard of this until today

i gotta think "countdown" is going to be somewhere in the 1-10 range, not the 11-20, yeah? did people vote "1+1" and "schoolin' life" at the expense of countdown, or in addition to it?

Anyways I'm still holding out hope that Still Sound shows up tomorrow
