I think the appearance of any "indie" track on the list is a huge disappointment for certain members of the dance massive.

Still don't think "Wut" is very dancy.

At least Tuomas has repped for the 'weird Finnish folk-inspired music' contingent on this thread, how do you think we feel every year? It's been a long dip.

i voted for icp and john talabot. tuccillo is one of those tracks i heard a lot and never knew what it was called and am sortof annoyed its pinned down now.

Locussolus = not as good as the book.

Yay, my first vote to place! In campaigning I called it My #2 Bounciest Track of 2011 (after The Crystal Ark), and the year's winner of the Tensnake Award for Gratuitous Nostalgia-Pop Reference in a Remix, and that's still how I feel about it.

i had no idea that locussolus track was a thing either. it's fun! if i'd heard it out last year maybe i'd have felt more strongly about it

I'm digging the house vibe right now, but this list so far does seem a bit more samey than last year's, though I dont think casting aspersions on partic posters is really right on; I think except for a couple tracks, the dance massive were p supportive of all the crazy wtf stuff (Swans, slowed down Bieber, the Knife, GSH) that had made the list

I don't really like the farty bass sound on that Locussolus track but when the pianos kick in it's getting better. Sort of hoping this isn't the direction Lindstrom's planning on going in.

I did my bit for the cat, but I'm beginning to think only one track off my ballot has any hope of placing.

The bass sound in this track is KEY imo.

Also, wait, didn't the will of the ilx dance massive top the charts last year? How is that a dip?

2011 felt a long stronger for dance music than the last couple, there were so many techno and house tracks that I fell for in a big way. Especially 'Yours', such a full and satisfying groove.

i feel like this was such a good year though that it kindof dilutes the pool. like i voted for a lot of stuff that was massive for me that i kindof realise now might not be on the list at all.

the bass sound should not be thought of as "farty"; rather, more like a tuba, to go along with the synth horns

oh I def think that there are four or five, MAAAAYBE six songs from my ballot that will place, all of them obvious placers

If you exclude Snooze 4 Love/Ragysh, then 'Yours' was about as close to a unifying anthem as 2011 gave us so I'd expect we're at peak house in the list now, although Benoit & Sergio's 'Everybody' might place.

Is the new lindstrom album really a disappointment? I was so looking forward to it

I wouldn't be surprised if Nyan Cat was in the top ten, not that I voted for it or have ever even listened to more than a minute of it.

Love that Locussolus track, the bass line is addictive. As soon as it started it made me think of all those great 70's disco tracks with really awful artwork, La Pamplemousse or someone like that.

idk i've listened to a couple i hadn't heard and they're really bad. who is this joy formidable, it sounds like something from an episode of buffy.

not sure if i did but i woulda voted for this one. benoit & sergio is gonna suffer from vote splitting. todd terje will place high (both hopefully) and i imagine some hot creations stuff will place.
