yeah, this is my fav alex da kid-produced song, but i still like many of the others on the album better. if "ass on the floor" didn't place last year (@ 77) i wonder how well it would have done this year. much higher i would guess?

album had been out a month when the EoY rolled out last year

i absolutely love it "coming home" - it's pretty much the perfect close to the album, which provides the perfect context for its corniness. it kind of had to be that corny. i love diddy's verses! that "i hear _____, i hate/love that song" trick that starts each song is so effective - because he follows up each by telling us why he hates/loves it, and it's not some bs appeal to objectivity but exactly how it relates to his life

the worst song on the album is "yesterday" ffs

i didn't vote for it (i forgot it was a single this year) and it's neither the best nor the most representative song on the album but it's SO crucial to how LTTP works, i can't imagine dismissing it - if you don't love "coming home" you perhaps don't quite get LTTP imo

The drums + piano are too punchy on this track.

like, it's a triumphant homecoming (figurative if not literal) after the high drama & emotion of what's preceded it, it HAS to be overblown and corny and anthemic and redemptive, it couldn't be any other way!

"Coming Home" scored fewer points, please note ("Ass" got 222 and more votes). The spread of votes seems to be much wider this year. None of the charting tracks so far would have made the top 77 last year!

Anyway, no way is it the worst song on the album. Sounded great on rotation on the radio this year too.

they played "Coming Home" to DEATH on pop radio, I basically can't hear it without thinking about my wife giving me a ride to work and how much we'd both rather just stay home

The whole rap + bolted-on female chorus just seems so simplistic in 2011 though.

Okay, yes, "worst song on the album" might be overstating it a little, but definitely one of the bottom 2 or 3. I don't get the love and it annoyed me to hear it so often on the radio. It was just so formulaic and, I don't know, predictable after the ride of the rest of the album.

huh i didn't expect steffi to place but very very glad it did! she's such an incredible dj that i actually had a bit of trepidation about her first original productions - she came through though, vg album and this was the highlight

I think the spotify list probably managed to bring to people more easy access to many of the tracks. With more of us having the ability to listen to more of the tracks in a way that was uncomplicated pragmatically meant that probably most of us went for diff't songs in the nominations list

2011 felt a long stronger for dance music than the last couple, there were so many techno and house tracks that I fell for in a big way. Especially 'Yours', such a full and satisfying groove.

hearing ellen allien drop this at dc10 was what solified this as a true 2011 anthem to me. actually i think this was the highest dance track i voted for so i guess it was THE anthem for me.

Damn, been in meetings all afternoon and so have missed the countdown so far. Only one of mine showing up 'Disco En Paradiso', which I expected to be higher. I know it's been said but the images and the font are awesome.

I think the appearance of any "indie" track on the list is a huge disappointment for certain members of the dance massive.

Still don't think "Wut" is very dancy.

i voted for icp and john talabot. tuccillo is one of those tracks i heard a lot and never knew what it was called and am sortof annoyed its pinned down now.

Yay, my first vote to place! In campaigning I called it My #2 Bounciest Track of 2011 (after The Crystal Ark), and the year's winner of the Tensnake Award for Gratuitous Nostalgia-Pop Reference in a Remix, and that's still how I feel about it.

i had no idea that locussolus track was a thing either. it's fun! if i'd heard it out last year maybe i'd have felt more strongly about it
