Another belatedly discovery of 2011 but why didn't anyone tell me about the Margaret Dygas self-titled on Perlon? Very much a dry, skeletal affair, typical of the label I guess - I'm not the biggest expert but on at least a superficial level it's very much like Villalobos' "Alcachofa" texturally - but there's enough darkness to remind me of Chloe while moments such as the live drums on this remind me of Four Tet:

what is the hot creations thing? i usually don't know what people mean when they say this. i believe there is a wolf + lamb thing that i also don't get

hot creations thing = lee foss "u got me", miguel campbell "something special", danny daze "your everything", hot natured "forward motion", clockwork "it's you again", etc.

it's not too crazily different than the wolf + lamb thing, but with (usually) more prominent vocals/pop hooks. it's lee foss and jamie jones' label idk

All I know is to AVOID Hot Creations/Hot Natured nights in London LIKE THE PLAGUE. Topless, sweaty 17 yr olds in sunglasses pushing on the dance floor.. no thanks.

i would absolutely go to a hot creations night in london for reasons that have only partly to do with shirtless guys

My experience with sweaty 17y/o Londoners has been more tedious and gross than anything else. Makes sense, since Hot Creations, Wolf and Lamb, et al make tedious and awful music that's by and large to be avoided like the plague, shirtless guys or no.

But that's just me.

i haven't heard the mixes where they talk over it, when i saw soul clap there was no mic action and it was a pretty chill crowd

this hot creations/crosstown rebels sound was pretty refreshing when it first came out. "l word", "forward motion", "without you" are aces. but then they keep retreading the formula to the point that it became boring and predictable. I can't stand Maceo Plex.

I can't wait for the inevitable curation of Hot Creations because it will be one disc of great post-minimal vocal house and it will be all I need.

i think what hot creations is doing has a lot more in common with azari & iii style vocal house revivalism than anything else, and i love it - even tho yes it can be somewhat formulaic

theres a dOP 12" 'after party' that i really vibe and a bunch of remixes by ppl that i vaguely recognize. they arent updating their website which is p lol but they only have four 'official' releases
