i'm just not seeing that he's improved enough to carry a project that big. i'm fine with living my life as if ross isn't some rap star i have to listen to for 20 songs in a row

i don't hate the mixtape or anything, like i've said i dig ross generally, he just is who he is to me. i don't see how this is any better than the better half of deeper than rap

the first track isn't really lyrical mastery, he repeats phrases over and over and rhymes words with the same words, but it's still a dope sounding track, and I like his lyrics on the tracks after that.

"Fuck 'Em" is my fav atm.

there are def a few "BMF" style tracks that could be cut, but the album still totally bangs

the two tracks w/ diddy are basically the least essential, but if you don't fuck with "high definition" and "mmg untouchable" and "yella diamonds" and "fuck em" and "last breath" and "king of diamonds" then idk what to tell you

you may have to stop listening to new rap music, cuz that's basically as good as new street rap in 2012 can sound imo

anyway deej i listened to LA state of mind today too and that >>> the ross. production on that is bonkers

loved the production on "yella diamonds"

so going back to Live from the Kitchen, I think this is really good as far as it isn't watered down like many other street-mixtape-artist major label debuts have been. I do think it's not a patch on any of his mixtapes, though (especially CM2 or CM6), in that lyrically it's less focused and more laid back, but there's a lot of hard-assed tracks on it. Plus hell, I still love his voice...him and Jeezy.

still tho....still enjoying it many listens later.

well that E-40 is brilliant. Had to rewind his verse

new jacka is really pleasant, but much like 'indictment' isn't really leaving a huge impression. he just doesn't sound as hungry as the jack artist through tear gas period. that was an insane run

i have trouble coming up w/ things to complain about w/ it, so it's not like its actively bad, just v sorta laid back smoke-y resignation or something

the gucci verse on the future tape is really good

Man, that Suga Free mixtape cover is atrocious.

after being mildly entertained by gold on deck and loving the riff raff collabo, disappointment rules the day as soulja boy's new tape is almost unlistenable. lil keis has a few nice beats on it and the closer w/ young l is passable. other than that it is every bad trait of his magnified to some hideously high degree

what u jacka listeners think of the track w/ lil rue & smigg dirtee? kinda crazy production. curious what yall think
