i am entirely unsurprised by drake fans proving themselves to be whiny lil bitches

all i see is angels in my eyes (lex pretend), Saturday, 19 November 2011 09:04 (fourteen years ago)

you kinda got a vendetta against the dude. did he like, turn some of your thug friends emo or something?

no jesus, no piece (Neanderthal), Saturday, 19 November 2011 12:28 (fourteen years ago)

i don't understand how expressing strong opinions about an artist = a vendetta

all i see is angels in my eyes (lex pretend), Saturday, 19 November 2011 12:32 (fourteen years ago)

it's like that weirdo who's been on my tumblr and in the guardian comments saying that my dislike of indie is a "personal grudge" o_0

all i see is angels in my eyes (lex pretend), Saturday, 19 November 2011 12:33 (fourteen years ago)

I ain't saying that you have to like dude, or that you can't hate him (lol I was talkin trash against him like only weeks ago)...

just like, you seem to be unusually offended by this dude and his recent release! between criticizing people for listening to it too soon after it came out "like fanboys", etc.

aw man, cuz man, we here to stay...ay (Neanderthal), Saturday, 19 November 2011 12:36 (fourteen years ago)

this isn't unusually offended by my standards at all. i feel this kind of hate at least once a month, and that's just re: music

all i see is angels in my eyes (lex pretend), Saturday, 19 November 2011 12:52 (fourteen years ago)

yeah neanderthal this is pretty mild rhetoric from lex, you must be new here

HE THE LEX! WHO? HE!

quit /stalking/ me 2.0 (some dude), Saturday, 19 November 2011 14:23 (fourteen years ago)

this album is really cotton candy-ish that it feels like a slog around the 50 minute mark (and unfortunately it's got 29 more to go). I like this for sure but have to break up each section.

hua hsu weighs in: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7250767/drake-take-care

i liked his piece on watch the throne but this one is a little muddled, although i suppose my thoughts on the album are somewhat muddled too. just for the h8rs, he devotes a full paragraph to gushing about crew love :) anyways, he's otm a lot of the time, esp when he says that drake's swag is first and foremost a coping mechanism.

When I ask about the strange square above the bed, he grabs a remote, and a projection system emerges from the ceiling. Neato, I say.

"Would I have you already?" he asks. "Are you sleeping with me?"

Time to go!

It's a hypothetical question (I think), but Drake, being Drake, still wants an answer: "We had wine and dinner by the pool, I brought you inside, I brought the projector down; are you or are you not sleeping with me?"

The Reverend, Wednesday, 14 March 2012 17:46 (fourteen years ago)

can't believe the description of their succulent dinner got cut

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 17:48 (fourteen years ago)

once again i am reminded of the admonition an exec gave to a friend of mine who was editing a ludacris documentary a few years ago: "you need to put in more lifestyle porn"

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 14 March 2012 17:55 (fourteen years ago)

He gestures to the pool, the tennis court, the volleyball court, the stables. "It's really difficult for me to find something that makes me feel small."

Drake: 'I'm the first person to successfully rap and sing'

omg just DO ONE you worthless moron

electric point-electric counterpoint (m bison), Friday, 27 July 2012 13:30 (thirteen years ago)

Missy Elliott would also like a word, as would Eve, the ghost of Left Eye, Nelly, Flo Rida, etc etc etc

the army of singing rappers would like a word, mr graham

at this pt, I'm ok with a trade embargo w canada that bans this fool from our country

electric point-electric counterpoint (m bison), Friday, 27 July 2012 13:37 (thirteen years ago)

it's really fucking embarrassing that I can't resist the beat to "The Motto" because honestly he needs to stfu

keeping things contextual (DJP), Friday, 27 July 2012 13:39 (thirteen years ago)

dan have you heard this? http://soundcloud.com/funkystepzuk/funkystepz-x-drake-yolo-miami

J0rdan S., Friday, 27 July 2012 14:58 (thirteen years ago)

oh god are you going to point me at more Drake songs I end up liking, because I really don't think my soul can handle that

keeping things contextual (DJP), Friday, 27 July 2012 15:01 (thirteen years ago)

I haven't been this personally invested in thoroughly despising an artist's output regardless of actual quality since... well I was going to say I was a teenager but then I remember R. Kelly

keeping things contextual (DJP), Friday, 27 July 2012 15:02 (thirteen years ago)

no that's a remix that keeps the best bits of "the motto" while rendering drake unrecognisable and slyly taking the piss out of him!

lex pretend, Friday, 27 July 2012 15:02 (thirteen years ago)

i love it and i am also very invested in hating drake for being a worthless damp patch

lex pretend, Friday, 27 July 2012 15:03 (thirteen years ago)

I listen to Take Care every six or seven weeks and find another song I can stand on the back half; but like DJP I don't wanna get too close either.

a regina spektor is haunting europe (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 27 July 2012 15:04 (thirteen years ago)

oh hey this is great

although chipmunking Drake is possibly the most unnecessary thing to do in the world, lol

keeping things contextual (DJP), Friday, 27 July 2012 15:04 (thirteen years ago)

Can I just volunteer that life becomes much easier and more enjoyable when you realize it isn't really worth the time to hate Drake? He's not Chris Brown; there's no moral imperative to despise his music.

I've come to regard him as the Family Guy at this point: He's going to irk me sometimes, he's going to amuse me at others, but since he's everywhere, all the time, I might as well just get used to him.

Evan R, Friday, 27 July 2012 15:08 (thirteen years ago)

if I wanted an easy life I would have sacrificed two years to i-banking when I was in my 20s

keeping things contextual (DJP), Friday, 27 July 2012 15:08 (thirteen years ago)

if he wasn't everywhere all the time why would i need to hate him?

he has amused me NEVER, ftr

lex pretend, Friday, 27 July 2012 15:11 (thirteen years ago)

I do not hate Aubrey graham, I just wish he had never become a rapper

electric point-electric counterpoint (m bison), Friday, 27 July 2012 15:12 (thirteen years ago)

oh sure, i may ask "WHY MUST DRAKE EXIST" but tbh i wouldn't really mind if he existed as, like, an admin assistant in an accountancy firm or something

lex pretend, Friday, 27 July 2012 15:15 (thirteen years ago)

he could take John Legend's old job at Boston Consulting Group

keeping things contextual (DJP), Friday, 27 July 2012 15:16 (thirteen years ago)

Only listened to Take Care once, and I can best compare it to being stoned in some rich friend's house late at night. He's pouring his heart out and even when you want to disagree with something you can't be bothered to speak be this couch is amazing.

da croupier, Friday, 27 July 2012 18:40 (thirteen years ago)

speak because, rather

da croupier, Friday, 27 July 2012 18:41 (thirteen years ago)

that is dead on

― keeping things contextual (DJP), Friday, July 27, 2012 11:02 AM (5 hours ago)

r kelly?

(i don't get the personal animosity for drake either tbh, his music sucks for the most part but like evan said he's not chris brown or something)

Al S. Burr! (k3vin k.), Friday, 27 July 2012 20:30 (thirteen years ago)

comparing him to people who have big strikes against them as people is apples and oranges, drake's music is all i need to loathe him. i mean ja rule wasn't half as ubiquitous on rap radio as him for half as long and remember how people whined about him being overexposed, i don't know why the world is still putting up with this worthless idiot.

Nutri Grane (some dude), Saturday, 28 July 2012 05:00 (thirteen years ago)

ja rule wasn't half as ubiquitous on rap radio as him for half

wait what? dude was totally ubiquitous for like 5 years
