Googley Asearch (Toaster), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 23:27 (twenty years ago)

do i get the feeling that people are going to flock to this board (and the oink requests) like vultures now?

natedey (ndeyoung), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 23:29 (twenty years ago)

nope the one on oink is still a fake.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 00:08 (twenty years ago)

Christopher Costello (CGC), Wednesday, 24 August 2005 02:09 (twenty years ago)

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 27 August 2005 13:33 (twenty years ago)

Boards of Canada will release a download exclusive single on September 5th ahead of the release of The Campfire Headphase in October. Oscar See Through Red Eye will only be available via Bleep.com/boc from this date.

van der who (van smack), Saturday, 27 August 2005 15:40 (twenty years ago)

i got it, no lie, and it's amazing. it's sounds like a textbook boc album, but it's still freaking gorgeous.

heywood jablomi (heywood), Sunday, 28 August 2005 02:47 (twenty years ago)

PROOF???

stu, Sunday, 28 August 2005 18:09 (twenty years ago)

I hate most of you people.

"aw shucks... i hope it isnt as sinister as geogaddi, because when i listened to it by myself i had to cover my ears."

its a great thing that geogaddi sounded so sinister because on the surface... it didnt sound sinister at all.
only once you realize what the alum was all about do you realize that something else may be going on behind the music.something that ni ine else has ever done.(not that i am aware of at least)

did anyone else listen to geogaddi stoned and feel like your head was going to explode?

ben, Wednesday, 31 August 2005 04:29 (twenty years ago)

ITS LEAKED AGAIN

Michael F Gill (Michael F Gill), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 04:34 (twenty years ago)

the campfire headphase will be amazing.
just like geogaddi was amazing
just like a beautiful place... was amazing
just like music has the right.. was amazing
just like twoism was amazing
just like hi scores was amazing

if you dont like the new album all you have to do is listen to it again.
and then once more
and you may find yourself saying
this is the best music i have ever heard.

ben, Wednesday, 31 August 2005 04:34 (twenty years ago)

and for the person who said they wanted lyrics?
well that is just plain stupid.

ben, Wednesday, 31 August 2005 13:51 (twenty years ago)

There is indeed an enticing series of blank boxes at bleep.com/boc above which it says "DOWNLOAD SINGLE AND NEW ALBUM" ... roll on Sept. 5.

Brakhage (brakhage), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 20:45 (twenty years ago)

BROS OF CANADA

cutty (mcutt), Thursday, 1 September 2005 20:05 (twenty years ago)

ive downloaded three fake albums so far on soulseek

as for the soulseek fake that alot of yall think is real: track 1 is really Freescha - Isotopes from Kids Kill the Floor. track 08 "sherbert head" is actually "drive me wide" from freescha's what come inside you PLAYED BACKWARDS! no shit! and "peacock tail" is actually "up the coast" from freescha's kids fill the floor. shall i continue? download freescha's albums if you dont believe me. you will find almost every track from this fake on freescha's albums....

there is another fake that is just a bunch of old boc songs that are kinda hard to find, like whitewater. i think there are boc compilations on soulseek called "some old tunes" or something like that. you will find the tracks from fake two on those comps...

and then there is this other fake that just sucks ass. its just so obviously fake. some really amateurish bullshit. i bet some 8th grader made it and thought he might fool some people..if any of yall think it's boc, yall dont deserve to be fans

venimdenim, Friday, 2 September 2005 01:18 (twenty years ago)

This board is full of music writers, so there has to be a few of them who will receive the promo. wink wink :)

shhhh (heywood), Friday, 2 September 2005 06:16 (twenty years ago)

now that's more like it, keep it coming :)

Jena (JenaP), Friday, 2 September 2005 06:23 (twenty years ago)

that guitar riff was used on one of the little movie/games on the website wasnt it?

zappi (joni), Friday, 2 September 2005 06:34 (twenty years ago)

Hmmm. i don't know...

Thermo Thinwall (Thermo Thinwall), Friday, 2 September 2005 06:40 (twenty years ago)

That sounds real to me. Reminds me a lot of their Boom Bip "Mirror Lake" remix, albeit with twinklier bits. Nice. Not hugely different to previous efforts, but I'm hardly expecting supper-jazz from them.

And if it is fake, at least the forger demonstrates some understanding of BoC's dynamic and approach to making a track.

Bill A (Bill A), Friday, 2 September 2005 07:32 (twenty years ago)

the last bit of the song, reversed.cant be a fake, only boc would deliberately ruin a tune like this

Yea I dont think that is a fake, if it is that is a great fake and I want to hear a full album by who did it. Please keep the leak stuff coming.

, Friday, 2 September 2005 17:12 (twenty years ago)

only a few days until the single is on BLEEP.....and yeah if you have the album let us hear more!!!!

stu, Friday, 2 September 2005 18:10 (twenty years ago)

I gots me some sherbert head. it came in reverse? Pretty easy fix. Weirdly surfy. from reports its 'dreamcoat' backwards. Sounds OK backwards, better forward.

cutty (mcutt), Monday, 5 September 2005 01:27 (twenty years ago)

why does boards of canada never want to rock?

russignonald's, Monday, 5 September 2005 04:22 (twenty years ago)

"oscar" is just alright, i think.

jermaine (jnoble), Monday, 5 September 2005 19:13 (twenty years ago)

er if ppl can listen to it in full (and so record the stream) where's the incentive to give bleep 99p?

hold tight the private caller (mwah), Monday, 5 September 2005 19:47 (twenty years ago)

the stream fades 15 seconds or so from the point you start listening to it, forcing you to hear the thing in bits, but anyone w basic sound software could piece it together. i spose if you were that set on not buying it, it'd be easier to find the thing on slsk, so i guess it's kind of plea to do things legitimate like. i wondered the same thing, though.

jermaine (jnoble), Monday, 5 September 2005 20:13 (twenty years ago)

also a lil surprised that the ppl so incredibly keen for this to leak arent talking about the legitimate bits now available.

jermaine (jnoble), Monday, 5 September 2005 20:20 (twenty years ago)
