she does it with EVERYTHING she plays though. I think one of my first ever ILM posts was back in 2000 when I was complaining about her creaming herself over a Boards of Canada exclusive she'd got her grubby little mitts on. "Wasn't that just MAGICAL! We'll have to get them in for a session!". Another time I heard her play something that she described as "A repetitive beat... BUT A WONDERFUL ONE AT THAT!". That's the difference between her and her hero John Peel - John never bothered telling you to like what he was playing, he just did.

On this mix MAH sounds like she's being handed little slips of paper written by the staff at Q magazine. I keep expecting her to interrupt a mix with "Wonderful - The Guardian *****".

I hate her voice. I have a friend who says she's his dream woman. I don't see it. Bit too enthusiastic for me, and I dislike the breezeblock because it's usually pretty boring peppered with some decent tracks.

so, do people dance to dubstep? how does one dance to dubstep? i was listening to some skull disco stuff in the car today and picturing people doing the dances from the "beat it" video, like slow-motion knife-fighting and moonwalking on rollerskates. is this right? or is it just music to go out to a club and smoke pot to and drink beer in the corner of the room?

my friends and i invented a rad dance which we called "the crippled egyptian". it was like a slowed-down version of walking the egyptian, with a lot of bobbing. actually, david byrne does the crippled egyptian toward the end of "once in a lifetime". we did it to make fun of the dancing at dancehall clubs but i bet it would go over great at a dubstep show.

I always think of halfstep as the half-time stuff with one snare per bar like Loefah's "Root" or whatever as opposed to anti-war dub or something. I think it's just some slap dash term.

Really like that tectonic plates 2CD. Bahl Fwd and the Loefah remix of Punisher are especially sick.

I'm giving that and the Digital Mystikz Cay's Crays remix a lot of play at the moment. When I'm not listening to the Katamari Damacy soundtrack.
