The one thing I don't get is the Pepsi logo on both covers... Were they like sponsored by Pepsi or something?

I have to say this is my favourite out of all there CD, I'm not saying it's there best or they have not done better or evolved musically since this CD as I believe they have. It's just one of my all time favourites.

The thing I love about the Ladies is there sense of fun, whimsy, heart, soul & mateship (listen to the commentaries on there DVD's there so funny!). Also the fact that musically there brilliant & Stephen Page has a voice that an angle would be envious of. Check out there live CD's cause when Steve sings 'Break Your Heart' live... well you know the reason I'm a huge fan & you should be too.

Just get this CD & the rest of them too & the DVD's, Inflatable dolls, T-Shirts, action figures, etc... I am sure the Ladies all need new kitchens or help putting there kids through school or retire to houses in the country. Also you will be doing yourself a huge musical favour too!

There music won't cure the common cold but my god it will make you happy your alive!

P.S. I love the band but that cover is hard to forgive. I tell myself they must've still been in high school or something.

OTM. The fact that we're still seeing ""jokes"" like "What a redact" is a pretty clear indicator that there's no way for this thread to get escape velocity from its original premise. I'm sure many people who participated just wanted it to be "most dorky and uncool barenaked ladies member," but it wasn't.

Gordon and Moxy Fruvous's Bargainville are two albums I still have an affinity for because they remind me so much of being 13

Still think they're both pretty good albums though hard to listen to now. For different reasons I guess.

BNL obviously went on to do a lot of garbage but it's pretty disingenuous to treat them like a novelty group or one-hit wonders, they've been around like 25 years now and they've written a lot of dumb songs but they obviously have some measure of talent. Always thought Maroon was a pretty damn great power pop album, at least.

Impossible to say whether "Psycho Killer" or "Wishing Well" is the worse crime. I gave them a chance because I try to be open-minded, but no. This is not the vehicle to convert a hata to a non-hata: quite the contrary; I went into it not hating them and came out hating them.

Let the saga of the offensively-titled Barenaked Ladies thread finally draw to a close. There are 8 other BNL threads in existence - use one of them.

I tried to find the best solution for everyone on this board. You do realize that we mods get yelled at just as much for locking "classic threads" as for not locking them, right? We switched the title twice according to user suggestions in an attempt to find a workable middle ground. Apparently both of those workarounds continued to offend. We have many ilxors with mentally disabled family members, myself included. Some people are going to be more affected by words than others. We probably all try our best to treat each other well and not to be assholes.

Calzino, my concern about the poster who got banned two weeks ago was for their mental health, which is something you purport to care about if I'm reading you right. When I learned that their antisemitism had been established over a number of years and was not some recent development as a result of a mental break, I gave up on the issue completely.
