Disco Nihilist (mjt), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 09:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Diamanda Galas' version of "Gloomy Sunday" came close to making my list, actually. That might have half-made another multiple winner;)

sundar subramanian (sundar), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 09:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I am taking out Aphex and replacing it with My Cherie Amour by Stevie Wonder.

Disco Nihilist (mjt), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 09:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I am also going to pick SIX because I don't want to live in a world where Don't Dream It's Over by Crowded House is not in my top FIVE.

Disco Nihilist (mjt), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name
Neil Young - Cortez the Killer
Rolling Stones - Rocks Off
Oasis - Wonderwall
T-Rex - Get it On
Black Sabbath - Planet Caravan
Talking Heads - Life During Wartime

If Disco Nihilist gets to pick SIX, I think it'd be only fair that someone who ISN'T a Nihlist and holds that all values are NOT baseless and that ideas and facts can indeed be known or communicated, pics SEVEN!

Echo & the Bunnymen - Over the Wall
David Sylvian - Taking The Veil
Joseph Arthur - Travel As Equals
Paul Simon - The Coast
King Crimson - Islands

Will probably be flagellating myself in a bit for not including anything by Roxy Music, David Bowie or Gene Clark.

― Valentijn

AARGH! Sometimes I shouldn't post here while I should be working instead. I just realised that I managed to make an error in one of my supposedly-five-favourite-songs-of-all-times picks. It's as if my brain did some sort of erroneous auto-correct after typing 'the Co':
The Paul Simon selection should be 'The Cool, Cool River'
While I do like The Coast, there's five or six songs from the Rhythm Of The Saints album that I would rank above it. Over the last few years, I got increasingly fascinated with The Cool, Cool River.
