i don't really like the idea that the "biggest" albums should automatically be at the front of the queue when it comes to what we choose to listen to, or that the "conversation" is more important than the music

i trust everyone will be on the meshell ndegéocello album as soon as it's out next week? or because she's not a platinum-selling artist does that make you want to bother less?

ugh -- do we hate Drake that much that we're actually defying him to entertain us. as much as I've clowned Drake, shouldn't we listen to the album first before we clown it? or at least listen without fingers in our ears?

that would be a good argument if Drake wasn't about to sell some ridiculous number of copies. no one is asking you to respect the album but knowing it -- esp for someone like you, for whom this album is, like, dead center in the middle of two genres you cover -- is kind of essential for your job
