ive decided i dont like drake because he's not authentic and i prefer my rappers authentic. thoughts?

AFAP Raggett (D-40), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:47 (fourteen years ago)

nope

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:47 (fourteen years ago)

the problem with "crew love" isn't that it's basically a weeknd track so much as it's just 3 mins of "THEY LOVIN THE CREEEWWW THEY LOVIN THE CREEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWW" rly tho?

lol xp

cannibal adderley (The Reverend), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:47 (fourteen years ago)

AFAP Raggett (D-40), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:48 (fourteen years ago)

How I Got Over is the ninth studio album by American hip hop band The Roots, released June 22, 2010 on Def Jam Recordings. Production for the album was primarily handled by band members Black Thought, Questlove, Dice Raw, and Rick Friedrich during 2008 to 2009. It contains a subtle, somber sound that incorporates musical elements of soul, jazz, indie rock, and gospel music, and features lyrics concerning themes of existentialism, perseverance, and modern society.

LAWL. Authenticity doesn't exist.

I could do without "Crew Love." That's the only one that feels like a Weeknd ft. Drake track to me.

"I know its hard to hear but I'm a Realest." (rennavate), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:51 (fourteen years ago)

I'm okay with treating this as just a pop album, like as if I were listening to a rihanna album or something idk

ASPIE Rocky (dayo), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:51 (fourteen years ago)

well it is a pop album, so that's okay

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:52 (fourteen years ago)

Yeah, when has Drake been anything other than a pop rapper?

"I know its hard to hear but I'm a Realest." (rennavate), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:53 (fourteen years ago)

what happened to your DARK AND DISTURBING LOOK INTO DRAKE'S TWISTED MIND angle j0rdan?

some dude, Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:53 (fourteen years ago)

so the problem is that it's basically a weeknd track?

― J0rdan S., Monday, November 7, 2011 6:49 PM Bookmark

i haven't heard a weeknd track this dumb and repetitive before but lets not get into this

cannibal adderley (The Reverend), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:54 (fourteen years ago)

oh man please never play 'thursday,' rev

ASPIE Rocky (dayo), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:54 (fourteen years ago)

hmmm, it's been sitting on my hard drive, but it's horrible tagged, which makes me 30 thousand 100 million times less likely to listen to anything.

cannibal adderley (The Reverend), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:55 (fourteen years ago)

there's still def an element of that (and it's not like that part of him was not pop! i mean, "marvin's room" & "i'm on one" are huge hits) but he left a lot of those tracks ("trust issues", "club paradise") off the album. and the album would actually be better w/ those songs on it

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:56 (fourteen years ago)

yeah 'thursday' is straight ass

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:56 (fourteen years ago)

hah I think I just got the official mixtape from his site and mine was tagged alright. but if you didnt like crew love then youll hate thursday

ASPIE Rocky (dayo), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:56 (fourteen years ago)

it seriously bums me out whenever 'headlines' comes in on the car, which is like every 5 minutes

ASPIE Rocky (dayo), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:57 (fourteen years ago)

this kendrick bit is cool

cannibal adderley (The Reverend), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:57 (fourteen years ago)

i like "headlines" a lot but it's kind of lowkey for a single and i wouldn't call it amazing or anything

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:58 (fourteen years ago)

"Look What You've Done" is kinda great. About his momma?

"I know its hard to hear but I'm a Realest." (rennavate), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 02:59 (fourteen years ago)

the recording of his mom or grandma at the end is kind of moving : X

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:00 (fourteen years ago)

not feeling "underground kings" as much as other people have

cannibal adderley (The Reverend), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:01 (fourteen years ago)

my connection between "look what you've done" & "it's whatever" gets stronger now that it's come out that chase n chache supposedly sampled a youtube video of static rehearsing a song on the piano

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5F5xP6cwRg&feature=youtu.be&t=1m3s

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:02 (fourteen years ago)

Wow, that's really really cool.

"I know its hard to hear but I'm a Realest." (rennavate), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:08 (fourteen years ago)

cannibal adderley (The Reverend), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:18 (fourteen years ago)

that's his second best line ever about old white ppl after "keep white in the office, call it jerry heller"

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:20 (fourteen years ago)

yeeaaahh, that jon b sample on "cameras" is really dope. drake's hook on this is another really dopey one tho

haha xp

cannibal adderley (The Reverend), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:22 (fourteen years ago)

most of the second half of this album has been kind of competent and boring

cannibal adderley (The Reverend), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:32 (fourteen years ago)

wait till you get to "practice"

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:33 (fourteen years ago)

not a game, we're talking about "practice"

some dude, Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:38 (fourteen years ago)

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:40 (fourteen years ago)

i love that that moment is so transcendent that even a dude like ship has it in the memory bank

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:40 (fourteen years ago)

so quotable

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:41 (fourteen years ago)

there's a radio dj here that uses it as a drop all the time

some dude, Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:43 (fourteen years ago)

you guys make this record sound really dull (like a drake record) and yet you keep talking about it. so is it... not dull as balls? idgi

GOIT BUZZ TOYS (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:43 (fourteen years ago)

listen for yourself

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:44 (fourteen years ago)

if you dont like drake, then you wont like this, simple as.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:45 (fourteen years ago)

Doubt it will convert anyone.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:45 (fourteen years ago)

that's not true!

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:51 (fourteen years ago)

i mean it's really engrossing from a production standpoint imo, like even ppl like deej & rev seem to be saying "i get it" even if they're not totally digging the album

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:52 (fourteen years ago)

most all of the second half of this album has been kind of competent and boring

cannibal adderley (The Reverend), Tuesday, 8 November 2011 03:52 (fourteen years ago)
