Yeah, I found Hal Willner's presence intriguing, I've always liked his work, especially his Burroughs albums.

Meanwhile, I can't get the bibbibabka ditty out of my head now.

Wilner's done the last few Lou albums iirc, at least stretching back to Ecstasy. Wasserman's OK, but I'm disappointed that Lou didn't bring in the master of the fretless bass Fernando Saunders. Seems like a song called "Iced Honey" is just dying for a lil fretless bass solo.

JH sounds honest to got awful on brandenburg gate. i always used to think he had a great voice for heavy music, but apparently he's a full-time crooner now?

really do like the *idea* of this being good... it defies so many old crit/genre/tribal assumptions and rivalries

any recommendations on other modern/abstract/ambient string quartet shit like that?

i cant help but feel like this would be a truly great record if only they weren't all sober :-\
