In the cover art, Lulu is on a white table. Think about it.

The smell of your armpit
The taste of your vulva and everything on it
We all really love you

i welcome this collaboration. it's a convenient, efficient means to end two careers that urgently must end.

The Ten Worst Heavy Metal Albums of All-Time!
Posted Tue Sep 27, 2011 9:56am PDT by Rob O'Connor in List Of The Day

With the impending doom of Loutallica and its 19-minute "Junior Dad" lurking in the pre-release shadows, it's time to list the Ten Worst Heavy Metal Albums of All-Time. (For those blissfully unaware, Loutallica is the forthcoming Lou Reed / Metallica album that no one is looking forward to.)

mutant slow drum (BradNelson), Friday, 30 September 2011 03:29 (fourteen years ago)

doesn't even know that Loutallica is the name of the band, not the album.

tylerw, Friday, 30 September 2011 03:30 (fourteen years ago)

That's an amusing article, but hey.

"Never say die" has an awful cover, but.

I don't know any of those albums well enough to say yay or nay.

I've just heard this for the first time today, and it made for a really fucking odd experience. When Hetfield's vocals came in I thought I was listening to some theatrical heavy metal showtune or something, y'know... like one of those songs from a musical where there's a narrator and it's punctuated by bits of singing... and that's before I squirted my coffee through my nose when he started barking that he was the table.

There are almost as many hilarious lines by Fricke in that RS story as there are in "Dragon".

A. Begrand, Friday, 30 September 2011 21:30 (fourteen years ago)

I couldn't read that Fricke story. Scared I'd laugh so hard, it'd feel like someone was trying to claw out my collarbone with their fingernails.

By that measure all the songs on Lulu should be eighteen hours long.

Metallica's instrumental track for "The View," cut that day in the same room where they made 2003's St. Anger, is an irregular stomp with a thrash-speed finish.

legendary room imo

Reed and Metallica first played together in 2009, when the band backed him at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's anniversary shows at Madison Square Garden. Reed immediately suggested they record together. The initial plan was new versions of some of his older songs.

wow, we could've had a whole album of "Sweet Jane"

ICED HONEY
You can't put a butterfly in a jar
If the effort's too high no matter who you are
You can't catch the moon, or the sun or the stars
It doesn't matter who you are
Iced honey
Now me I've tried a million tricks
To make life cold and make it stick
Not running heat that flames then out
But the proud piece of ice that always floats
Iced honey
If I can't trap a butterfly or a bee
If I can't keep my heart where I want it to be
If no matter how much soul and heart
I put to the wood
If a flaming heart is not that good
Iced honey
If you can't put a butterfly in a jar
If violence mars your final hour
If you make others feel like jam
Poured on a piece of charbroiled lamb
If it's all mixed up and you cannot shout
And your oxygen starts to run out
If your final gasp has the recipe wrong
And instead of hello you say so long
If your energy starts to leak out
And people wonder what you're all about
A heartbreaker with an unattached heart
The story of love gives them all a start
And me, I've always been this way
Not by choice, just this way
I can't put my honey pot in a jar
Or a heart or a fist of some young boy
If you can't put a butterfly in a jar
No wonder no need to wonder where you are
It might seem like Hell, the river Styx
Your affection never sticks
No matter what you say, no matter what you do
A butterfly heart flies right past you
There's nothing to say, nothing to do
See if the ice will melt for you
Iced honey

Dude from Baroness at Scion conference called this album the worst, most unmusical thing he'd ever heard.

Nate Carson, Monday, 3 October 2011 00:20 (fourteen years ago)

Man I love Baroness, but that dude is clearly not the table.
