Jim Morrison all like, "Thanks for giving me a tambourine or something while The King hogs the mic, ASSHOLES."

Woolen Scjarfs (Phil D.), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:20 (fourteen years ago)

Elvis looks like he's busting for a piss, ironic considering he died on the toilet.

master musicians of jamiroquai (NickB), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:31 (fourteen years ago)

I would actually kill myself if it meant I got to go to heaven and see a band that included Karen Carpenter and Randy Rhoads.

More like Rock'n'Roll Hell.

PoMo with a shotgun (snoball), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:37 (fourteen years ago)

(nice of Metallica to show their respect for Lou by trying their best to look as old as him)

PoMo with a shotgun (snoball), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:38 (fourteen years ago)

almost as bad as being "inducted" into the rock n roll hall of fame, like a frat house ritual

Dr X O'Skeleton, Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:39 (fourteen years ago)

Also, when did they replace Lars with Bill Bailey?

PoMo with a shotgun (snoball), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:39 (fourteen years ago)

when did sarah palin die? when did she become a famous musician?

dayo, Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:41 (fourteen years ago)

and Lou sort of looks like he's already dead, and the band are propping him up 'Weekend at Bernie's' style.

PoMo with a shotgun (snoball), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:41 (fourteen years ago)

This is a fantastic thread.

Clarke B., Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:43 (fourteen years ago)

Jim Croce and Duane Allman? Sure this isn't Rock'n'Roll Limbo?

PoMo with a shotgun (snoball), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:45 (fourteen years ago)

Mike Love's Jagger (Spectrist), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:47 (fourteen years ago)

That's John Bonham, not Dennis Wilson.

PoMo with a shotgun (snoball), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:48 (fourteen years ago)

Dennis is far top right

Mike Love's Jagger (Spectrist), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:49 (fourteen years ago)

PoMo with a shotgun (snoball), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:50 (fourteen years ago)

señorita buttstench (Lamp), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:54 (fourteen years ago)

xxp I thought Randy Rhoads was Suzi Quatro, Bonham was the guy from the Bee Gees, and Allman was Kurt Cobain, until I squinted at the text for long enough.

PoMo with a shotgun (snoball), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:55 (fourteen years ago)

Haha I thought he was Suzi Quatro too!!

Mike Love's Jagger (Spectrist), Wednesday, 28 September 2011 22:56 (fourteen years ago)

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Wednesday, 28 September 2011 23:44 (fourteen years ago)

Ahh at first glance I could only make out the front people. Hah!

she started dancing to that (Finefinemusic), Thursday, 29 September 2011 00:50 (fourteen years ago)

We have the technology now to mix individual tracks by these bands and put together that heavenly mashup of 5+ guitarists, 7+ singers, 3+ drummers, etc. Someone needs to jump on it, the all-star dead classic rock lineup. Not me.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Thursday, 29 September 2011 03:20 (fourteen years ago)

You know those all-star tribute 50th anniversary rock 'n' roll tv specials where they'll have like Bob Dylan AND Tom Petty AND half of Aerosmith AND Eddie Van Halen AND Chuck Berry AND Slash AND Jack White jamming on "Like A Rolling Stone"

Disraeli Geirs (Hurting 2), Thursday, 29 September 2011 03:28 (fourteen years ago)

I really want a Legends-style t-shirt with Sonny Bono, John Denver, and Sylvester on it.

Josefa, Thursday, 29 September 2011 03:33 (fourteen years ago)

It will be cool in 50 years when they start fitting 7000 dead rock stars onto one poster.

billstevejim, Thursday, 29 September 2011 04:21 (fourteen years ago)

It's been 10 years and still not enough love for George Harrison.

billstevejim, Thursday, 29 September 2011 04:24 (fourteen years ago)

I want one with Mr Rogers, John Ritter and Wesley Willis.

billstevejim, Thursday, 29 September 2011 04:30 (fourteen years ago)

wtf no Michael Jackson on any of these either

billstevejim, Thursday, 29 September 2011 04:36 (fourteen years ago)

Andy Gibb should be up there.

Josefa, Thursday, 29 September 2011 04:40 (fourteen years ago)

The real-life team up of Hendrix and Morrison was bad enough.

seems like people who died in their prime, and can be depicted at the age they were at when they died, is kind of an unspoken requirement (with Elvis being the exception that proves the rule)
