"this is one way to stop people from stealing your music"

TracerHandVEVO (Tracer Hand), Monday, 26 September 2011 13:54 (fourteen years ago)

Their voices blend surprisingly well. The backing, though... it's so far down in the mix that it's like "Institutionalized" without the fast parts, just overdrive whirring around in the background. All I wanted was an egg cream of someone who actively despises you.

bendy, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:05 (fourteen years ago)

Would have been better had it been Lou babbling over that swingin' "Institutionalized" A section. They could have called it "punk swing" or something. "Beat Punketry." "Jazz-metal."

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:13 (fourteen years ago)

Jetal?

Ned Raggett, Monday, 26 September 2011 14:21 (fourteen years ago)

the rollins band comparison is pretty apt

I AM THE TABLE

ok, i get to listen to this now. sounds pretty cool! I AM THE ROOT. If you're not feeling that, you're in some old planetary system.
but yeah i wonder what the really extended songs are gonna be like?

tylerw, Monday, 26 September 2011 15:12 (fourteen years ago)

Listened earlier on, unknowingly had a flash game with wibbly music open in another tab. I imagine this improved the track but I'm not listening again to confirm.

ledge, Monday, 26 September 2011 15:15 (fourteen years ago)

xpost -- They will be about square roots.

Ned Raggett, Monday, 26 September 2011 15:15 (fourteen years ago)

Rollins Band had a better rhythm section.

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 26 September 2011 15:17 (fourteen years ago)

is this the table james is singing about

from fbook: "OMG!!!! Seems like a new "St. Anger" is coming, I really hope that MetallicA release a "pure-Tallica" album anytime soon, and I really hope that not all the others songs sound like this, it reminds me of Lou Reed's The Music Machine......"

tylerw, Monday, 26 September 2011 17:03 (fourteen years ago)

i wish lou reed would have done an album with the music machine in the 60s, that would have ruled

things just keep getting realer and realer. when you think it's going to get less real, it gets more real.

this is awesome until hetfield starts singing, then again I'm a big fan of metal with what sounds like a homeless person spewing invective on vocals cf. kilslug

Why would you ever want to pay anything less than full price for the ALBUM OF THE DECADE?

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Monday, 26 September 2011 19:23 (fourteen years ago)

marissa marchant's $10,000 per CD pricing might make sense in this case

the 500 gats of bartholomew thuggins (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 26 September 2011 19:26 (fourteen years ago)

what are the formats for this record going to be? hoping for extra deluxe version, which includes a table.
