sorry for party blogging (D-40), Friday, 23 September 2011 23:40 (fourteen years ago)

Of all the "news posts" about this (lol p4k, Vulture, hiphopdx) this one is seriously a perfect storm of "WE HAVE TO COVER ANYTHING ODD FUTURE" followed by the half-hearted "WE HAVE TO JUSTIFY OUR DECISION TO COVER ANYTHING ODD FUTURE"

That dramatic lead gleaned from a half-hearted press quote is just too fucking perfect

billstevejim, Wednesday, 12 October 2011 17:38 (fourteen years ago)

i kinda liked the video tho

pandemic, Wednesday, 12 October 2011 17:38 (fourteen years ago)

Kinda hard to keep defending these guys after this video.

I'll still rep for the Earl album, but I'm really, really over Tyler. This shit's wack.

If Assholes Could Fly This Place Would Be An Airport, Wednesday, 12 October 2011 17:54 (fourteen years ago)

kill them all

plax (ico), Wednesday, 12 October 2011 18:06 (fourteen years ago)

Been playing the Domo album a lot esp 'Whole City Behind Us' which has Tyler on it, love that one.

pandemic, Thursday, 13 October 2011 10:09 (fourteen years ago)

this is is really cool, at least up until the final two and a half minutes where it gets all "funny"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBYZIMIhdd0&feature=related

but the arrangement really spells out his admiration for badu

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 25 October 2011 23:54 (fourteen years ago)

this is awesome

J0rdan S., Saturday, 29 October 2011 21:26 (fourteen years ago)

i'm seein these dudes next Thursday. anybody have any idea what their shows are like, who gets the most onstage time (besides Tyler)?

currently I'm a fan of Mellowhype and of course Tyler, and I have the Earl Sweatshirt mixtape (tho I guess he's in Europe now?), but...haven't heard many of teh gazillion other affiliates of theirs.

Neanderthal, Sunday, 30 October 2011 16:47 (fourteen years ago)

they're all on stage at the same time and i think just run thru songs by diff members randomly

J0rdan S., Sunday, 30 October 2011 16:47 (fourteen years ago)

kinda like wu-tang does at their shows, then. that's cool, kidna what I figured.

Neanderthal, Sunday, 30 October 2011 16:53 (fourteen years ago)

They're playing tomorrow night here.

lumber up, limbaugh down (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Sunday, 30 October 2011 17:41 (fourteen years ago)

there was actually a diff image that i wanted to post but it's on my computer at home and i couldn't find it elsewhere ;_;

J0rdan S., Monday, 31 October 2011 19:03 (fourteen years ago)

yeah these guys are just dicks

the 500 gats of bartholomew thuggins (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Monday, 31 October 2011 19:12 (fourteen years ago)

Like I can't even justify the hard drive space for downloading the free shit from tumblr any more. The story will make a greak book someday, a how to completely piss away huge amounts of hype in barely a year.

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Monday, 31 October 2011 19:14 (fourteen years ago)

yeah i don't think that's gonna happen, sorry bub

J0rdan S., Monday, 31 October 2011 19:15 (fourteen years ago)

You really don't think someone's going to turn this into a book or something someday? Gotta disagree with you on that one.

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Monday, 31 October 2011 19:17 (fourteen years ago)

oh well someone will surely write a book about them. i really don't think they're going to piss away their hype in less than a year tho.

J0rdan S., Monday, 31 October 2011 19:18 (fourteen years ago)

Oh gotcha. Yeah, they won't completely, no, but it just seems like less an less people give a shit at this point. I know it didn't really backfire on Chris Brown, but since these guys aren't selling millions yet, the higher profile types might start distancing themselves from these guys when stories like this break.

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Monday, 31 October 2011 19:19 (fourteen years ago)

lol

Youth Ya Goon (Whiney G. Weingarten), Monday, 31 October 2011 19:21 (fourteen years ago)

yeah, i don't think any of that is true

J0rdan S., Monday, 31 October 2011 19:22 (fourteen years ago)

for one, high profile people will co sign and/or work with anyone that will make them money/keep them famous

also OF have been playing sold out shows like for the entire year, ppl still very much care about them

J0rdan S., Monday, 31 October 2011 19:23 (fourteen years ago)
