Very appropriate for both bands on a day like this.

It's kind of hilarious that REM said "fuck it" when their contract was finally up while Metallica ran off to make artsong with Lou Reed

in all the excitement i missed the fact that Lou has a cameo on the new Booker T/The Roots record too!

the whole album is pretty good and (mostly) avoids the santana celebrity cameo syndrome, good number of instrumentals, roots obv do a great job

i really hope that this project prompts some kind of magazine feature with the members of metallica speaking in detail about their favorite lou reed records and/or vice versa, that would just be straight up fascinating to me.

The poster – which had apparently already appeared in one or two places – depicts a dismembered, cut and bruised female mannequin. The word LULU, the name of the album, is scrawled across her in coagulated blood by the perpetrator’s finger, we presume. Perhaps from cutting up her legs. I’ve only just stopped feeling sick an hour after seeing it.
