it's funny, the original 'say my name' is much more stuttery and timbaland-y than his remix. i guess he had to take in the other direction.

"What's So Different" is incredible, probably in my top 5.

"what's so different" isn't really one of my absolute favorites off that album

i really fell in love w/ R&B radio because of the station we kept on at my first summer job in 98/99, so that song always stands out as one of the songs that just murdered me every time i heard it back then.

'bourgie r&b ish' doesn't seem like the right description of the era of "Hey Papi" and "Get Ur Freak On"

like that was probably the peak of his club banger period, he was more heavily associated w/ R&B in the '90s, his biggest R&B hit in 2000 was "Try Again," which was not very bourgie. "What's Your Fantasy" isn't exactly a word away from "Phat Rabbit."

i think the string loop just sounded so immediate & mercenary or something, to me, from that song ... just perfectly sleazy & lowest-common-denominator in the best way
