Eh...obv we can coordinate via this thread but having people spread over five rooms on two or three sites seems pretty suboptimal to me. It was nice knowing that if anyone was around playing tunes, they were going to be in Outloud/ILXOR.

RIP MixApp:

At long last the MixApp adventure is coming to an end. We'll discontinue the service the evening of August 27, and hope that everyone will take this coming week as an opportunity to say their good-byes.

We've been able to continue the service this far thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our premium subscribers. From all of us here at MixApp, a huge shout-out to all of you who believed in the community and helped build it.

In future we may post a more entrepreneur-focused post-mortem to go into detail about why MixApp didn't find its path to financial success (or at least stability), but to summarize the crucial factors in our decision to shut down:

1. Quite simply, we can't afford the hosting costs any more!

2. With several newer services now available to offer shared listening experiences (check out http://listeningroom.net/ http://turntable.fm/ and http://mumuplayer.com/), we're confident that the concept of listening together will survive, and thrive, even without MixApp continuing.

Thanks very much to everyone who encouraged the team along the way, helped shape the product with their ideas and feedback, and especially to those who played so much great music.

lol that's the email I saw mumu in. I just tried it out, that's all.

I can understand why people are getting all "SPLITTERS!" about splitters, and outloud.fm is great when it works - but currently it doesn't (tried multiple browsers from multiple locations with multiple twitter accts since Friday) so if I do any more listening room stuff it won't be there.

Yeah I don't care where we end up, as long as we all end up in the same place.

I dunno what problems there were with Outloud, but it seems to be working fine now. At least with Firefox.

Not that I know of. I was playing in mumu last night and emil.y came in there with me for a few minutes, causing kerr's abandonment issues reveal themselves.
