is there an explanation of vibe music in this thread that i'm pretending not to have seen as deej says or is it in another thread as j0rdan says? i guess i'm just asking if it's a legit publicist-invented 'new genre' or just something that someone said on ilm and is now being parroted over and over

its ilx shorthand for talkin about the 6-7 songs that sound like grind mode / 'sensual seduction' so we dont have to type out all the words explaining that

one of my favorite songs is "shes so fly" by grind mode

I think 6-7 only really applied 3 years ago when we came up with the term. There's quite a bit more of it now.

uh shakey i wasn't thinking of whatever you thread you're talking about or who started it (maybe i did post on it, i dunno, but i don't remember it either way). my point was that lots and lots of people treat it as a truth bomb these days, so i wasn't referring to any specific example.

Fwiw, I was half-joking. At any rate, why is the niche-ification of rap necessarily a bad thing? (Not to say it's inherently good either.)
