MrTeriusNash Terius Nash
Dont know what movie yet anyone. just trying to say something less thoughtful.

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 17 August 2011 09:06 (fourteen years ago)

lol

the micro-level insight into his process you get from twitter is really interesting. like it seems like the genealogy of 1977 is him deciding to make a record called 1977, then designing a cover, then writing some of the songs, getting around to writing the song about his mom that he thought it'd be good to write, etc, the whole thing probably running up to the time of release. it's so weird! but it works for him.

Murderer - inspired by the film Colombiana (i think?). first track we've heard from 1977.

Somewhere between Fergie and Jesus (Alex in Montreal), Monday, 22 August 2011 07:43 (fourteen years ago)

yeah idk about that one -- production is kinda cool tho

am i wrong to say those drums are influenced by "pon de floor"/"ass on the floor"/"girls run the world"

J0rdan S., Monday, 22 August 2011 07:54 (fourteen years ago)

i really dig it, although it could lose the fake nylon string guitar imo.

hardcore oatmeal (Jordan), Monday, 22 August 2011 14:08 (fourteen years ago)

to me it feels like the drums are just going for a cinematic 'marching snare' thing separate from pon de floor's vibe, but who knows

hardcore oatmeal (Jordan), Monday, 22 August 2011 14:09 (fourteen years ago)

i only listened once but thought the autotune was kinda killing his voice, some

sexual union prayerbook slam (schlump), Monday, 22 August 2011 14:35 (fourteen years ago)

that autotune is terrible. not in an "omg autotune is so terrible" kind of way but in "the autotune on this particular track is terrible"

low - murderer vs imogean heap - hide n seek

fauxmarc, Monday, 22 August 2011 15:28 (fourteen years ago)

kinda love it

sean gramophone, Monday, 22 August 2011 15:31 (fourteen years ago)

seasoning sauce all over me (tpp), Wednesday, 24 August 2011 05:22 (fourteen years ago)

not on the record, incidentally:

1. WAKE ME WHEN IT´S OVER
2. USED TO BE
3. LONG GONE
4. GHETTO FEAT BIG SEAN
5. WEDDING CRASHER
6. ROLEX FEAT CASHA
7. SILLY INTRODUCING CASHA
8. 1977 (MISS YOU STILL)
9. WISH YOU WERE MINE
10. REAL
11. FORM OF FLATTERY

(Chris Isaak Cover) (schlump), Thursday, 25 August 2011 13:38 (fourteen years ago)

That's a good sign, not that expectations are particularly high.

A Chuck Person's Guide to Mark Aguirre (Andy K), Thursday, 25 August 2011 13:40 (fourteen years ago)

6. ROLEX FEAT CASHA
7. SILLY INTRODUCING CASHA

These are out of sequence, right?

A Chuck Person's Guide to Mark Aguirre (Andy K), Thursday, 25 August 2011 13:41 (fourteen years ago)

Maybe Silly is a lead single!

Somewhere between Fergie and Jesus (Alex in Montreal), Thursday, 25 August 2011 13:51 (fourteen years ago)

maybe she's just kinda 'on' rolex + silly is more a sorta Nivea style 'vehicle'

(Chris Isaak Cover) (schlump), Thursday, 25 August 2011 13:52 (fourteen years ago)

maybe the title is "silly introducing casha", as in "it'd be silly introducing casha" or something

lex pretend, Thursday, 25 August 2011 18:51 (fourteen years ago)

still disappointed that rihanna song wasn't "photographs featuring will.i.am", ie a song about photos of will.i.am, which would have had the added bonus of not actually having will.i.am on it

lex pretend, Thursday, 25 August 2011 18:52 (fourteen years ago)

lol

Reddit Me Bro (forksclovetofu), Monday, 29 August 2011 04:03 (fourteen years ago)

"imma drop that body work / fuck my brains out double single" is prob his idea of sexy talk

✇ ruehl (some dude), Monday, 29 August 2011 04:05 (fourteen years ago)

i really really hope that he releases 1977 in some format better than 128kbps.

seasoning sauce all over me (tpp), Tuesday, 30 August 2011 07:49 (fourteen years ago)

it's a bit drake-y @:-/

seasoning sauce all over me (tpp), Tuesday, 30 August 2011 07:51 (fourteen years ago)

i'm more offended by his earnest attempt at rhyming "devil" and "shovel"

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 30 August 2011 07:58 (fourteen years ago)

are ppl still talking about 'body work / fuck my brains out' -- i havent listened to either since they dropped basically .zzzzz

D-40, Tuesday, 30 August 2011 07:58 (fourteen years ago)

like will any of yall be year-ending those joints

D-40, Tuesday, 30 August 2011 07:59 (fourteen years ago)

how many times have u listened to them since they came out vs. like any peak dream jams

D-40, Tuesday, 30 August 2011 07:59 (fourteen years ago)

this new one has nice atmosphere but is aimless like a lot of drake tracks imo

D-40, Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:00 (fourteen years ago)

nah i dig this tho -- it's sorta reminiscent of new drake stuff in that there's not really a hook? drake's r&b stuff is so obviously influenced by the-dream tho that they were prob bound to blur together as drake got more popular.

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:01 (fourteen years ago)

i love drake's aimless, vibing confessionals tho

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:01 (fourteen years ago)

terius doesn't pull it off as well, but it's also less suited to her persona & strengths as artist -- i'm liking this a lot

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:02 (fourteen years ago)

lol, his persona etc

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:02 (fourteen years ago)

also lmfao at this

I HATE THAT I’M INPATIENT

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:03 (fourteen years ago)

get well soon, boo

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:03 (fourteen years ago)

i gotta say that this does feel like a ... way out for him. like, i was expecting to hate this more or it to sound more the-dream like but hes def reigned some of that in for the better

D-40, Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:03 (fourteen years ago)

not sure id be giving him this chance if he hadnt given the world love-hate but for now, i approve

D-40, Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:03 (fourteen years ago)

feel like '5. WEDDING CRASHER' has genuine potential

i don't hate this, the end is quite pretty. i don't want him to reign in 'sounding like the-dream' tho wtf

seasoning sauce all over me (tpp), Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:10 (fourteen years ago)

YOU KNEW IT WAS OVER I KNOW YOU DID

I KNEW IT WAS OVER YOU KNEW I DID

EVERYONE KNEW IT WAS OVER

SO WAKE ME WHEN IT’S OVER

i like this, from a writing standpoint

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:10 (fourteen years ago)

i feel where deej is coming from -- also sounding less like the-dream is sorta the whole point of this project, like it or not

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:12 (fourteen years ago)

it's a free internet album, i'm not shocked that he's indulging his less commercial impulses -- at least it's not a rock album!

anyway i think this is pretty cool, i might dig a whole LP that was like this!

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 30 August 2011 08:13 (fourteen years ago)
