Old Ass; Surprised I Knew how To Use A Computer

Fart-photo tweets sound like Tao Lin, The Creator.

saint dominic's p4k review (Eazy), Thursday, 11 August 2011 16:24 (fourteen years ago)

yeah sry, I jumped in at the tail end of this controversy and couldn't read back because "load all posts" kept crashing the browser on my shitty old computer

you can sometimes use bookmarks to navigate through pages of long threads, so if you don't want to read the whole thing you can bookmark the first post under the break and page back from it

CLUB PISCOPO (DJP), Thursday, 11 August 2011 16:53 (fourteen years ago)

(haven't done enough playing around to figure out why it sometimes doesn't work, but sometimes it doesn't work)

CLUB PISCOPO (DJP), Thursday, 11 August 2011 16:53 (fourteen years ago)

ohhh, good call—much better than my previous workaround of "waiting for something to get quoted on the clusterfuck thread, then googling that post and reading the thread from there"

swaguirre, the wrath of basedgod (bernard snowy), Thursday, 11 August 2011 16:58 (fourteen years ago)

I've tried this technique and it is still quite often a pain in the ass.

kkvgz, Thursday, 11 August 2011 17:01 (fourteen years ago)

if you posted + then split, sometimes it's worth looking at 'my recent posts', reading a page, choosing 'permalink' on the last post and then reading another, &c.

old browser big thread crash them all

evidently some dude from the album leaf was recording the Odd Future Albini Festival Shuttle Ride Them All deal, and metafilter linked it, but the link isn't working for me

all i'm getting is that ws banner ad from "full sail university" which is probably better than whatever this was supposed to be

if anyone ever hears one of their friends talking about going to Full Sail University do them a solid and talk them out of it. its like if bartending school for sound/video/production trades... if bartending school cost $100,000 when you can just bust your ass in a bar for a few years and learn the same shit.

evidently some dude from the album leaf was recording the Odd Future Albini Festival Shuttle Ride Them All deal

it would be great if even more random musicians started surfacing to claim they were on board the shuttle, like it turns out the female passenger they flipped off was Reba McEntire or something.

I swear that video/audio started to load for me, then I clicked on the brooklynvegan link for some stupid reason, and when I came back it was Full Sail. Also found a dropbox link to the file on another site but it had gone dead.

dmr, Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:03 (fourteen years ago)

did odd future copyright all forms of the phrase "black and white" or something? that's not, like, a 'significant connection'

lil dawg (some dude), Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:07 (fourteen years ago)

thought this revive was gonna be the tyler/eminem photo

J0rdan S., Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:15 (fourteen years ago)

totally reminds me of all the times Tyler wrote peace on his face and used La Roux fonts

delmar dillinger (Whiney G. Weingarten), Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:17 (fourteen years ago)

I can't believe Tyler is encouraging Em by telling him Relapse was a great album.

jon /via/ chi 2.0, Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:19 (fourteen years ago)

he's prob more encouraged by the 5 million copies it sold

J0rdan S., Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:32 (fourteen years ago)

it's funny, tyler generally has pretty good taste i think, but i've never heard him bring up any album outside of 'relapse'

J0rdan S., Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:32 (fourteen years ago)

how do you reconcile the two clauses in that sentence

beemer, I mean BIMMER douchebag (DJP), Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:33 (fourteen years ago)

lol, i meant any eminem album btw

J0rdan S., Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:33 (fourteen years ago)

haha that makes more sense

beemer, I mean BIMMER douchebag (DJP), Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:34 (fourteen years ago)

uh dude we already talked about how he reveres post-2004 Neptunes. namechecking Waka does not instantly connote "good taste."

lil dawg (some dude), Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:34 (fourteen years ago)

imo this kind of thing is proof of how letting old heroes stay successful after they fell the fuck off makes the world a worse place, a whole new generation of fans grows up thinking of that shitty later work as 'the classics'

puff puff post (uh oh I'm having a fantasy), Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:37 (fourteen years ago)

that's not, like, a 'significant connection'

I was more looking at the 70s photo and the forehead thing

the thread has spoken I was wrong

dmr, Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:48 (fourteen years ago)

i dunno what '70s photo and the forehead thing' means so i will defer to you as knowing more than me

lil dawg (some dude), Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:52 (fourteen years ago)

It's not like there were any famous rap albums with '70s photos on the cover before Odd Future

Number None, Thursday, 1 September 2011 17:53 (fourteen years ago)

Relapse isn't really that bad, guys

delmar dillinger (Whiney G. Weingarten), Thursday, 1 September 2011 18:00 (fourteen years ago)

Like it's not the Marshall Mathers LP by any stretch, but its the exact same stabby stabby pilly poppy bitchy rapey stuff as any Odd Future record x 1,000

delmar dillinger (Whiney G. Weingarten), Thursday, 1 September 2011 18:02 (fourteen years ago)

When he starts praising "I Love The Way You Lie" I will probably start to question Tyler's taste.

billstevejim, Thursday, 1 September 2011 18:11 (fourteen years ago)
