Pointless late reply - yeah I thought the Marcus 13th July set was pretty good overall, I guess the only complaint was that about 2/3rds in it seemed like every tune was banging out the same bassline. MCs were on point though. Got the podcast sitting on comp so will try and ID that 70 minute track in a bit.

Mighty Moe is great on funky for sure. Titchy have you heard Funkystepz boiler room set with MM on mic? Top stuff, so much energy.

At least it has a name. It's very hard even for a legacy as frail as the above to attach to my other forgotten favourite, the tune that samples Jagged Edge's "Walked Outta Heaven".

Marcus had a set on Deja with Shantie and Rankin' in May 2008, that he offered for download as 13 tracks. The Jagged Edge tune comes in at 7 min on track 1 and crosses over into track 2.

It's got this repeating piano figure and whirring beats, and "Rolling down the lonely highway, asking god to please forgive me." It's always been my pet theory that it's a Target tune as Marcus says at the beginning of the set he's got a Target track to play and it's vaguely like something he might have done.

^ been obsessing over this one a bit lately too, in tandem with the rebecca france remix. the brilliance of this vocal stuff has really taken me aback, there's been no hint of it to date even when he was good. (new "tribal" stuff isnt a patch on his earlier material from the key ep imo). if anything's the new dem 2/new horizons skippy dubby descendant it's this i reckon.

It's actually a vocal version of their remix of Hard House Banton's "Reign". AFAIK it's the first time the vocal version has ever been played.
