KDT has requested that she be taken off the list as the coordinator of the Madonna and Aphex Twin polls. If anyone wants to do either of those in their current spots in the order, please step up.

I'd love to do the Aphex poll, but like I say, I'd probably get sacked from work if I did.

I don't want to do either of those artists, but if noone else does either I could fill in week 4 to keep the schedule on track.

What artist would you want to run the poll for? I'm happy to move Zep up to the spot after Prince.

I'll do U2. I've been giving them some play recently, best take advantage before I'm sick of them.

Also, Beatles-Prince-Zep is quite a run of elite-of-the-elite acts, U2 would break that up a bit in a way that Bowie or Fleetwood Mac wouldn't. (slight intended, but it's only a slight slight)

As much as I'd like to jump Zeppelin to #4, I kind of agree with you.

Jamie, did you want to open up Prince voting while the Beatles results are happening, or are you going to wait until after Mark G's done?

Looking at the Zep discography...it's pretty small, only 84 songs, not counting various live performances as separate entries. I'll probably count down the top 40 over two days.

U2's about 200. I'm planning to countdown in one go, and probably a top 30 max.

maybe just do a top 20 for Zep? otherwise everything will place lol

Considering opening up the Stevie poll to include stuff he just wrote, as well.

Probably won't need 20 votes either - it's not like they don't have a ton of filler.

considering that like half of Zep's discography are classic rock radio staples i wouldn't mind the countdown being as long as possible to give different stuff a chance to show up

Because that kind of sniping and asshattery is ~exactly~ *why* I'm not running any polls.

Considering the shit that went down at me *before* I even withdrew, it was pretty obvious that no matter what you clusterfuckers throw at me now, it's still gonna be less than I would have had to deal with, if I had done it.

At least now, because I'm not committed to running a poll and giving the answers, I can tell the asshats to go fuck themselves, and walk away.

Now enough with the fucking meta and ad hominem shit already. It's boring, and it's clear that all you're doing is putting off other people who might have stepped in and taken up the polls instead.

I've been doing the Beatles one, and basically the haters have kept away. (I'll forgive the dude who called me 'barking' or whatever..), even though your original hater from that time said I was something close to an 'aspie' for wanting to do The Beatles.

Having said that, after getting in nearly 60 individual ballots, going "OMG" and compiling the results only to find I'd got it completely wrong and had to start again....

Anyway, to the haters, It Was Fun! Can't handle a bunch of people enjoying it? Don't come.

PSB poll was pretty much sweetness and light all the way, guess they're just more civilised than other fans.

Nobody ever hates in polls! I've done a couple, I get nothing but goodwill from them. Ideally you'll get some arguing and bad blood as the results appear, to give things an edge - but it's all bickering about taste, it'd be pretty bad form to have a go at the ringmaster.

The madonna usurper was the one guy I've seen who went way out of line but he got chased away en masse, it's kind of the opposite of how it's getting represented here.

Would include Funkadelic, Parliament, Bootsy's Rubber Band, Fred Wesley and the Horny Horns, Parlet, Brides of Funkenstein, George Clinton solo, plus other assorted solo recs (Fuzzy, Bernie, Sweat Band, Jerome Brailey, Quasar). I asked this before and no one answered, but there seems to be some interest on the Prince poll...

Large, varied discography, lots of fans on ILM -- I think it would be a good one!

I tried picking a spot in the voting order that concided with my current work lull, but I underestimated how slowly these would go. Looks like Zep may hit me at my next deadline time. Anybody in the 7-8-9 slots want to switch with me? Or, Ismael, I could go next unless you're ready to roll with U2.
