Red Foo Vein???????????????

J0rdan S., Friday, 17 June 2011 03:37 (fourteen years ago)

red foo and vein are two separate artistes i'm afraid

r|t|c, Friday, 17 June 2011 03:39 (fourteen years ago)

Red Foo is the 35-year-old member of LMFAO who is the other LMFAO guy's uncle...Vein is some other absurd person i guess (xpost)

Mr. John Scatman (some dude), Friday, 17 June 2011 03:39 (fourteen years ago)

that whole LMFAO thing is too fucking bizarre to even think about

J0rdan S., Friday, 17 June 2011 03:41 (fourteen years ago)

also berry gordy's son

r|t|c, Friday, 17 June 2011 03:42 (fourteen years ago)

posted that bit of common knowledge cos i only just discovered it obv

wynter gordon's 'til death' came up on this thread a while ago right? i'm into it

r|t|c, Friday, 17 June 2011 03:45 (fourteen years ago)

Despite being a cobbled-together cash-in effort, i didn't think Pitbull sounded that bad on Bon Bon.

модный хипстер (ShariVari), Friday, 17 June 2011 08:06 (fourteen years ago)

i don't know who vein is but this vein ft. pitbull song from a few years ago was great

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TO9Tz5OpCng

the whole pitbull career arc is the weirdest thing. it's kinda tough to explain how he used to be really good.

the smoke cloud of pure hatred (lex pretend), Friday, 17 June 2011 08:17 (fourteen years ago)

i do like "give me everything" though, trust ne-yo to articulate the sense of mortality at the heart of the up-in-the-club aesthetic (one for the memento mori thread?)

the smoke cloud of pure hatred (lex pretend), Friday, 17 June 2011 08:18 (fourteen years ago)

also re: cher lloyd, i actually started a separate thread yesterday. i actually think "swagger jagger" is fun but the other songs i've heard are much better and less gimmicky

the smoke cloud of pure hatred (lex pretend), Friday, 17 June 2011 08:19 (fourteen years ago)

whole wynter gordon album's pretty enjoyable actually

this kinda insistently pure dance pop is not usually my thing i guess (certainly least not in full-length terms) but i find she's got character

r|t|c, Friday, 17 June 2011 11:56 (fourteen years ago)

if by character i mean performance chops, latent r&b songwriter craft and a voice similar to gwen stefani's

r|t|c, Friday, 17 June 2011 11:56 (fourteen years ago)

cher lloyd was fun for 5 minutes i suppose but having her back 6 months later with this cobblers is just a bad dream

think she might be surprised by how little enthusiasm her general project is met with beyond the weirdo diehards

r|t|c, Friday, 17 June 2011 12:02 (fourteen years ago)

it'd be nice if it was all just messier and more british

make her sing over forward riddim or something

jojo O_O

"fuck the new girl that's been in your bed / and when you're in her, i know i'm in your head"

she was singing about doing the dutty wine back in 07 i guess

the smoke cloud of pure hatred (lex pretend), Saturday, 18 June 2011 15:33 (fourteen years ago)

could've chosen a better softsynth preset for that track

historyyy (prettylikealaindelon), Saturday, 18 June 2011 16:31 (fourteen years ago)

well, the beat's from a drake song

some dude, Saturday, 18 June 2011 16:32 (fourteen years ago)

wowwwwwww

one of my best friends is an honourary homosexual and I've found her adoration of tunes like "no angel" and "happiness" pretty infectious.

Post "the only girl in the world" I feel like there is actually a market for well-made songs in this vein.

Actually pretty sure australia is that market.

http://fher-swiftie.tumblr.com/post/6599660019/love-you-like-a-love-song-selena-gomez-the

I kind of like this new Selena Gomez song. "and I keep it in repeat-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat"

uberweiss, Sunday, 19 June 2011 00:04 (fourteen years ago)

Oh wow "Swagger Jagger" is kinda awful.

Tim F, Sunday, 19 June 2011 12:35 (fourteen years ago)

xp "and i keep hitting repeat-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat" lol

uberweiss, Sunday, 19 June 2011 17:06 (fourteen years ago)

What do we think of this?

Alpaca Lips (Johnny Fever), Wednesday, 22 June 2011 03:55 (fourteen years ago)

nope

frogbracist (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 22 June 2011 03:57 (fourteen years ago)

nope? It crossed the rubicon of bad back into good for me.

Alpaca Lips (Johnny Fever), Wednesday, 22 June 2011 03:58 (fourteen years ago)

Oh shit, I just realized what it reminds me of! The music from the SNL sketches where everyone has to dance as they come onstage for the Fred Armisen talk show.

Alpaca Lips (Johnny Fever), Wednesday, 22 June 2011 04:00 (fourteen years ago)

yeah that wasn't as bad as I was expecting from the title/screencap

The Brainwasher, Wednesday, 22 June 2011 04:04 (fourteen years ago)

I repeat-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat-peat'd "Love You Like A Love Song" 63 times last weekend. I think I have it out of my system now, but yeah, it's way catchy.

!Alicia!, Wednesday, 22 June 2011 04:39 (fourteen years ago)

I'm listening to it right this moment. Really love it now.

uberweiss, Wednesday, 22 June 2011 09:06 (fourteen years ago)

You stand alone... to every record I ownnn <3

uberweiss, Wednesday, 22 June 2011 09:07 (fourteen years ago)

i'm not sure which "l.o.v.e." chorus this year i find more annoying

glad to hear i shouldn't have to worry about reapplying for my certificate.

it's interesting though, i've long mused that 'happiness' might be seen as a potentially something of a groundbreaking record but probably one of the main distinguishing factors in that assertion is that for an ultra-evolved streamlined american eurodance pop r&b hybrid it doesn't code as particularly homo, like there's no routinizing emancipatory release there. then again perhaps this is an overly basic way of looking at it, idk.

r|t|c, Thursday, 23 June 2011 11:24 (fourteen years ago)

My problem with "Happiness" as that Alexis Jordan strikes me as a bit of a charisma vacuum

ha ha ha ha jack my swag (boxedjoy), Thursday, 23 June 2011 11:33 (fourteen years ago)

your problem was the world's solution tho! edgeless arcs of pure gliding ordinary

r|t|c, Thursday, 23 June 2011 11:43 (fourteen years ago)

wish i could go back in time to 2003 and ask sean paul if i gave him a million bucks would he meet me in 8 years with a stupid huge fucking mohawk on his head and go badungbungbungbadungbudungbungbung on my bullshit pina colada novelty record

― r|t|c, Thursday, June 16, 2011 11:18 PM (1 week ago) Bookmark

after listening to "Shake Senora" a few times (argh it's on the album TWICE) i've come to the conclusion that they picked the wrong token dancehall guy -- only Elephant Man can pull off an interpolation that goofy

some dude, Friday, 24 June 2011 17:11 (fourteen years ago)

dunno why i get so radge when i stay up til 5... i now hereby give this song the morbidly amused thumbs up

what was the other beetlejuice song btw

r|t|c, Friday, 24 June 2011 18:18 (fourteen years ago)

"Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)," as sampled in "6 Foot 7 Foot" and interpolated in "Don't Wanna Go Home"

alan all destroyer (some dude), Friday, 24 June 2011 18:24 (fourteen years ago)

impeccable timing and will be rewarded for it

r|t|c, Wednesday, 29 June 2011 22:45 (fourteen years ago)

now's probably acceptable for j0rdan to drop the rip-off bomb btw

though on occasions like this u just gotta enjoy big business machinations done right imo

r|t|c, Wednesday, 29 June 2011 22:50 (fourteen years ago)

this is dope

though, yes, it does sound like what's my name/right there/lose control/lay it on me

and alexis jordan sounds exactly like keri hilson

rosa parks did not sit on that bus for this shit (The Brainwasher), Wednesday, 29 June 2011 23:02 (fourteen years ago)

i know right

basically listening to this tune just makes me think of the exec responsible who came in to work, sat down, gave the charts a moment's thought, made the call and then high fived his secretary on his way out back to the ferrari at 9:05am

r|t|c, Wednesday, 29 June 2011 23:13 (fourteen years ago)

is she in porn?

dirty deathdrone boys (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 29 June 2011 23:15 (fourteen years ago)

alexis j0rdan

teledyldonix, Thursday, 30 June 2011 01:11 (fourteen years ago)

lol, all the youtube comments say that ryan tedder wrote it.

teledyldonix, Thursday, 30 June 2011 01:51 (fourteen years ago)

love the selena gomez single

also weirdly enjoying the pitbull album o_0

(not "shake senora" which is getting such a side-eye from me right now)

lex pretend, Sunday, 3 July 2011 09:55 (fourteen years ago)

This Sean Paul/Alexis J0rdan tune is really good! Actually the perfect midway point between their sounds!
