I'm Gay leaked. He samples "Iris" by The Goo Goo Dolls on one track, which makes a certain kind of sense.

12
it's all based soulful rap music as opposed to based swag-on-my-dick cooking music
i could see this record winning him some news fans actually.
it kind of reminds me of 'operation doomsday' ?!
― tpp, Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:26 (fourteen years ago)
if this album came with a bonus cd of high quality youtube cooking joints this would be album of the year

― (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:30 (fourteen years ago)
i'm not sure if I like this tbh, the beats don't knock hard enough. and none of those songs are as good as "myspace" or "real life" or "i'm god"
tbf I only listened to like the first 5 songs and then skipped through the rest, at 4 o'clock in the morning, so these aren't final judgements
not very based though, imo
― rosa parks did not sit on that bus for this shit (The Brainwasher), Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:32 (fourteen years ago)
i'm definitely somewhat surprised by this.. not really how i expected a lil b "album" to sound
agree some of the beats don't knock as hard as his hardest but the project has a consistent sound which is cool imo.
definitely hearing that cormega influence on this on joints like 'i hate myself'
― tpp, Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:45 (fourteen years ago)
if 'unchain me' isn't supremely based then idk
― tpp, Thursday, 30 June 2011 20:55 (fourteen years ago)

love this album (well, first half of it at any rate) - i like that it's more "age of information"-esque "proper" rapping
― lex pretend, Friday, 1 July 2011 06:29 (fourteen years ago)
he really nails a totally coherent mood
Guys, most of his recent output has been like this.

Is that a Slowdive sample on 'Open Thunder'?
― pandemic, Tuesday, 5 July 2011 15:53 (fourteen years ago)
Lil B is the Stewart Lee of hip-hop, utterly easy to dismiss as not fulfilling key criteria of the genre (can't rap / doesn't make me laugh) but if you buy them you buy them pretty big.
Lil B is worth all of the criticisms and all of the praise.
Not quite loving this as much as 'Angels Exodus' but I was all over that for a fair while.
