Next guy to do this should be some trained-from-birth Manchurian Candidate mole who will be able to go on J. Kimmel and unmask, outshredding whatever guitar slinger they throw at him.

James Redd and the Blecchs, Friday, 8 February 2008 19:08 (eighteen years ago)

I wasted a separate thread on the demise of this a few days ago.

Seriously fucking angry !

- boring hairy girly, note perfect, tuneless, passionless, ugly cunts!!!!

St Sanders will rise again

UNDERWIRE RESURRECTS ST SANDERS

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Saturday, 9 February 2008 07:22 (eighteen years ago)

Many thanks Big Hoos aka the steendriver.

Any idea how I can save this work of the world's greatest at the top of their game.

The Clapton one particularly should be buried in a time capsule. Along with the great man himself. Immediately!

Fer Ark, Saturday, 9 February 2008 11:39 (eighteen years ago)

three months pass...

i can't do a proper search for these clips anymore - not since some dude developed a hairbrain scheme to imitate the original idea, but in a way that's not funny at all. and he's done a whole bunch of them, somehow missing the point that the guitar overdubs are meant to sound amateurish. take it easy on the legit, rehearsed pentatonics, bro!

Charlie Howard, Wednesday, 4 June 2008 05:40 (eighteen years ago)

that Steve Vai one is priceless. He HAD to be one of the dudes that complained. It makes him look like such an ass.

rockapads, Wednesday, 4 June 2008 06:06 (eighteen years ago)

It was Malmsteen who complained no? He's a total fuckwit anyway

Some tonight (Conan?) show actually had StSanders and Slash playing together, so I doubt it was him.

S-, Wednesday, 4 June 2008 06:47 (eighteen years ago)

They said 3 guitarists complained and mentioned he thought Vai and Malmsteen were two of them.

rockapads, Wednesday, 4 June 2008 06:51 (eighteen years ago)

J0hn D., Wednesday, 30 July 2008 14:48 (seventeen years ago)

There's some collective of guys (forget their "band" name) that's done 100+ of these sorts of full-band play-along "shreds". Some of them are awful or stiff, but a few (Journey's "Any Way You Want It"; Human League's "Keep Feeling Fascination"; Danzig's "Mother"!!!) are beyond great.

My bad if they've been posted already.

David R., Wednesday, 30 July 2008 14:56 (seventeen years ago)

creed one = serious roflz

impudent harlot, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 14:59 (seventeen years ago)

Oh my god LOL @ Creed--why do I have to be at work right now?

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 15:16 (seventeen years ago)

Fuck I made it about 30 seconds into Slipknot before realizing I was going to lose my shit.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 15:18 (seventeen years ago)

Fer Ark, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 18:32 (seventeen years ago)

the big argument upthread is lol

goole, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 19:00 (seventeen years ago)

the music itself is komedy but more than half the joke is refocusing attention on the visuals

goole, Wednesday, 30 July 2008 19:03 (seventeen years ago)

This is one of my favorites ever. Same concept, but with vocals instead of instrumentation.
