(TLET would have been #1 on my ballot, and is one of my top 5 favorite albums of all time)

Midnight Marauders is my favorite Tribe album. Seeing them on that tour with De La cemented it's placement for all time.

such a fucking monster of an album, and another fucking brutal beginning that sledgehammers you into loving it
re: the predator - i was thinking about naming the singles poll 'wreck yourself before you check THE ILM RAP MUSIC etc.'
― WHO THE FUCK READS THE (a hoy hoy), Friday, 3 June 2011 17:06 (fifteen years ago)
ever have an album you like everything about except the way it sounds, like the actual frequencies it puts out? that's me with fear of a black planet. I like the songs, the rhymes, etc, but the production job on it keeps me at a distance. every couple of years I go back to it hoping I can get with it but so far, no.
love "welcome to the terrordome" tho.
― backpacker van beethoven (Edward III), Friday, 3 June 2011 17:07 (fifteen years ago)
the infamous was my #2. once had a relationship end badly and sat in my room listening to that album on repeat drinking whisky alone. sounds bad but it was the best thing ever.
death certificate is my shit too

"Welcome To The Terrordome" is my least favorite of the big songs on Fear of a Black Planet, tbh.

xpost I'm the exact opposite - prefer Nation song for song but adore the production on Black Planet - so dense and heavy, like nothing else.
Predicted final 10 (not in order): De La, PE, Beasties, Dre, Outkast, Nas, Biggie, GZA, Raekwon, Wu
