Glad I didn't vote because there are SO MANY of these I haven't heard but mad kudos to whoever put the Spotify playlists up there.

Looking forward to the joek #1s. Don't fuck this up ILM.

SOC is one of those seminal works, so central to the genre - even if the first few tracks set the bar so high nothing else on the album can come close I still don't think there's very much out and out terrible on the album. even the lesser material is still really good, barring maybe a couple tracks.

xp

metally ill (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 3 June 2011 15:53 (fifteen years ago)

Doggystyle still sounds fresh. Doggy Dogg World is an all-time top 3 music video, my favorite track on there too.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Friday, 3 June 2011 15:54 (fifteen years ago)

Every track on this has had a spot as my favorite at some point in my life.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Friday, 3 June 2011 15:55 (fifteen years ago)

Doggystyle is my favorite Dre-related product.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 3 June 2011 15:56 (fifteen years ago)

For sure.

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Friday, 3 June 2011 15:57 (fifteen years ago)

metally ill (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 3 June 2011 16:19 (fifteen years ago)

re: Doggystyle, I remember really hating "What's My Name?" and actively avoiding any and everything related to the album when it first came out as a result, which meant that when a friend played the entire thing for me and I heard "Gin and Juice" for the first time several months later it was my first real "holy shit what the fuck was I thinking hating on this?" moment with an artist

RIP The Predator

I understand why everyone didn't vote for you but I love you anyway

low-rent black gangster nicknamed Bootsy (DJP), Friday, 3 June 2011 16:38 (fifteen years ago)

huh, kinda surprised that people rate that over Death Certificate. is it the Bomb Squad angle?

metally ill (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 3 June 2011 16:38 (fifteen years ago)

Predator's great but I think it's really weighed down by the skits and some of the weaker stuff on the second half

metally ill (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 3 June 2011 16:39 (fifteen years ago)

how many votes did you get overall, sam?

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Friday, 3 June 2011 16:41 (fifteen years ago)

I voted for Predator but much lower than the other two. Highs are freakin' high on it.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 3 June 2011 16:42 (fifteen years ago)

Predator has a bunch of great songs ("When Will They Shoot" is maybe my favorite Cube song) but I felt it was a slight comedown from DC--not quite as cohesive.
