xpost OK, I take your point that the timeline of responses might be different to how I thought it unfolded. Maybe my view is skewed by reading ILX, Lex's Guardian piece, etc because by the time T&S weighed in I felt that ground had already been well covered and that most OF fans in the press were ambivalent to some degree.

it's all well & good to yell whatever you want in a song, but yelling faggot a bunch of times in the specific way that tyler does - that is what makes the resulting songs bad

I'm aware that my own response to Tyler's unpleasantness is less complicated than it might be because the most offensive stuff is often the weakest so I'm not wrestling with any reluctant compulsion. Goblin is no Death Certificate. So even though it's my honest response I almost feel like it's cheating. With a track like Boppin Bitch my artistic and moral responses are in neat alignment.

I have only one Tegan & Sara song - Call It Off - but it's A+.

apologize for furthering the tangent, but I'll say as someone who likes plenty from the last three Tegan & Sara albums that "Walking With A Ghost" is one of my least favorite tracks from the period
