That's true obviously. But the dude does all the artwork, videos etc. His production and the dynamic he has with Earl is a huge part of why Earl's album works so well. I love Mellowhype too but let's not take the Tyler backlash too far. They'll all have their moment.

anyway i really suspect that the main contortion that ~liberal~ audiences perform in order to justify contributing to the OF hypemachine is that in order for it all to be okay, they HAVE to be genius level, unarguable talents who do things that no other can. that's just not true! earl and tyler are moderately talented, really no more or less than any given promising emerging rapper who drops a mixtape in any random month (better than yelawolf? na'tee? shabazz palaces? angel haze? deej's beloved jacka? or do they just have a more media-friendly backstory and some bieber-for-shut-ins teenage cvlt shit going on?). that's all. these kids are not special.
