To be fair not everyone had 8,000 words to tell the story, nor the budget and prestige of the New Yorker to support it, nor all the additional groundwork that comes with a six month press blitz. kind of a non-question xp - it's "better" to acknowledge how privilege informs your positions and avoid engaging in dialogues/narrative stances that use one's own privilege to marginalize/disenfranchise others, i.e., straight males telling lesbians that they've got some hard dick for them. For Edward, Tyler evidently has some offsetting disenfranchisement that makes this sort of homophobic assholism harmless, acceptable trolling. for me, less so.
