it would still be close to mine but as i've said before (i think in TSJ comments actually) the song is just structured really weird, it kinda falls off a cliff after drake's verse (btw BY FAR his best verse ever)

yeah it's totally a high point for drake and nicki's kinda dead weight by comparison

i was driving across the Bay Bridge in early July, on my way to meet my man-friend who was making me dinner, and "Super Bass" came on, and so of course I turned it up REALLLY LOUD.

and then i involuntarily started crying. the production is soooo cheesy and beautiful that it actually made me weep.

the opening of super bass is such a headrush, like the first big dip in a rollercoaster. I do wish nicki would go acapella for a few more bars before the beat kicks in.

pink friday's highs - that tracks tim listed basically, maybe throw "i'm the best" in there too cuz it seems important - are really, really high

the big sean song continues the tradition of nicki shining on otherwise awful songs but tbh i can see the whole ASS ASS ASS ASS ASS ASS ASS stuff becoming enjoyable in a "my humps" kind of way

i didn't even know that's what the song was originally called until today because the radio edit just goes DANCE DANCE DANCE DANCE

what's kinda annoying is that waikiki isn't an island but i'm used to nicki getting her facts wrong by now

he definitely kills whatever energy it might've had, & it really picks up during her verse

the nicki verse is obv the highlight but i dunno if the big sean verses kill the song. after a couple listens (i'm real down with this song) i just skipped straight to the nicki verse and it didn't have quite the same punch. i don't really know big sean (first impressions: he seems annoyingly lethargic in the tradition of other G.O.O.D. princes and pushas) but i don't really mind his performance here. it's not great but it certainly doesn't kill the song.

re: ASS ASS ASS ASS ASS - i'm just happy someone took dj assault to the mainstream.

does any other rapper lean on the stutter-effect as much as nick does
