Saw him in London the other week and he's really got this total nailed-down intensity live. Like, total command of his voice, whether he's doing double-time or when he's being more dramatic, on Pop The Trunk etc. Also he managed to totally nail the bruised fake defiance at the start of 'Love Is Not Enough' - the whole "I got me, bitch..." when you can hear he's saying the exact opposite.
Also for all the lol Jesse Pinkman jokes, everyone in the audience seemingly looked like Combo or Badger.

There are no songs with him complaining about being compared to Eminem because he is white.
*breathes out*
― swagliacci (The Reverend), Thursday, 8 September 2011 01:25 (fourteen years ago)
There are no songs with him complaining about being compared to Eminem because he signed to Eminem's label and clearly would have no problem with that.

I'm more concerned that he will just ramp up the aggro white skater-punk vibe given he seems to be acquring so many fans in that category.
I didn't really like the tracks which tended in that direction on 0-60 - or not as much as his other material at any rate.

Would much prefer another "Daddy's Lambo" to another "Get The F*** Up" or "Marijuana".

I bet "Marijuana" sounded amazing with the real cobain sample

i saw him at warped tour. best thing there, which isn't saying much, but he was awesome. stage-dived twice. in a row.
― mutant slow drum (BradNelson), Thursday, 8 September 2011 08:59 (fourteen years ago)
He is FANTASTIC live. I should point out that when he played London he didn't play any of the rock guitar/Beastie Boys type songs - make of that what you will.
I like the rock tracks okay, not as much as some of the rest of his stuff. That's not really the fault of the guitars though (they sound great), it's because he simplifies and strips down his flow so much to accommodate them. Daddy's Lambo is amazing but it's ALL ABOUT him, production-wise it could be one of dozens of rent-a-beat rap producers from the last couple of years.
Actually want I really want to hear more of (and would prefer to more big guitars) is Mixing Up The Medicine-style country rap.
