This song was on non-stop rotation on the Jawaiian station in Hononlulu about 6 months ago.

These were the other ones that we'd hear 10+ times a day:

Ho'Okoa - Ups & Downs

J Boog - Let's Do It Again
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZQr0jdUJ5A

it's time for the fish in the perculator (Steve Shasta), Monday, 9 May 2011 22:12 (fifteen years ago)

two months pass...

I was at a coffeehouse playing top-40 radio yesterday, and every song for a good half-hour or more was written, co-written, or performed by Bruno Mars.

bernerrrrr! berrrrrnowwww.... (Eazy), Friday, 22 July 2011 15:11 (fourteen years ago)

he's the smokey robinson of talentless cokeheads in porkpie hats

apichathong song (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Friday, 22 July 2011 15:15 (fourteen years ago)

this story is so shocking to me, people on coke usually make such great music

goole, Friday, 22 July 2011 15:29 (fourteen years ago)

In the current Pop landscape of futuristic super villains with drum machines, Bruno Mars is just very bland.

Sad. His Sesame Street performance gets heavy rotation in my house.

call all destroyer, Friday, 6 January 2012 20:50 (fourteen years ago)

Wait, did he get arrested again? Go to jail? I'm confused.

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 6 January 2012 21:16 (fourteen years ago)

i think in 'lazy song' he's saying he's waking up late to p90x, like, the infomercials that are on in that time between mid-morning and mid-afternoon that lazy people wake up.

NZA, Wednesday, 18 January 2012 02:53 (fourteen years ago)

i kind of like his stupid songs

Bruno Mars clears up Vegas cocaine possession case

⚓ (gr8080), Monday, 23 January 2012 22:54 (fourteen years ago)

2 grams of coke, didn't show for the hearing = $2000 and community service
This is totally common

New Bruno album is 90% amazing

epic album: the pluto (Whiney G. Weingarten), Saturday, 15 December 2012 01:49 (thirteen years ago)

bowie and lilo did their best work on coke too

back in judy's tenuta (strongo hulkington's ghost dad), Saturday, 15 December 2012 01:55 (thirteen years ago)

yeah i revived another Bruno thread already but totally fuck w/ this album

some dude, Saturday, 15 December 2012 02:11 (thirteen years ago)

Cant even bring myself to try

THE NATIONS YOUTH DANCED TO THE MACARANA (innocent) (forksclovetofu), Saturday, 15 December 2012 03:11 (thirteen years ago)

other than the fact that the 2 best-sounding songs are about gold diggin' womens the album is pretty refreshingly devoid of the kind of missteps that generally put people off bruno mars

some dude, Saturday, 15 December 2012 03:24 (thirteen years ago)

It's only 35 minutes, I played it twice today

epic album: the pluto (Whiney G. Weingarten), Saturday, 15 December 2012 04:43 (thirteen years ago)

I quite like the new single, it sounds very Police inspired. Not sure I can ever forgive him for The Lazy Song though.

Kitchen Person, Saturday, 15 December 2012 07:48 (thirteen years ago)

yeah this album is actually quite strong. the only track i don't like is "gorilla" b/c the image of bruno mars doing it like a gorilla is slightly repulsive to me but hooray for the other tracks

teledyldonix, Monday, 17 December 2012 18:37 (thirteen years ago)

if i don't fux with the single is there any chance i'll like this?

The Reverend, Tuesday, 18 December 2012 02:04 (thirteen years ago)

sure, nothing else on the album is like "locked out of heaven" at all

some dude, Tuesday, 18 December 2012 12:33 (thirteen years ago)

"treasure" is really good although it doesn't sound like a radio hit. his voice still sounds like someone trying to impress judges on "american idol" which kinda ruins it for me, but there's shockingly good moments on this album. i wish the chorus of "locked out of heaven" was more rewarding. the verses are great though.

billstevejim, Wednesday, 26 December 2012 06:19 (thirteen years ago)

i really really love the bridge of locked out of heaven because, like, for a Police rip to suddenly do Stewart Copeland quarter-notes on the bell of the ride cymbal is like a Weird Al-level attention to detail.

finally rich, fun-packed, fulfilling (Whiney G. Weingarten), Wednesday, 26 December 2012 06:24 (thirteen years ago)

i also hear The Romantics' "Talking in your sleep"

billstevejim, Wednesday, 26 December 2012 06:31 (thirteen years ago)

locked outta heaven is incredible.

always cracks me up when dudes need the #1 song in the country spoonfed to them via ilm

some dude, Tuesday, 1 January 2013 21:48 (thirteen years ago)

why? it's not that odd at all, really.

Sri Harold Klemp (crüt), Tuesday, 1 January 2013 21:49 (thirteen years ago)

3 year old daughter loves "locked out of heaven". hmmm. they're playing it at least three times an hour on the radio here.

tylerw, Tuesday, 1 January 2013 22:00 (thirteen years ago)

always had a soft spot for bruno, some of this is v immaculately completed paint by numbers but i'm more fond of "show me" & "locked out of heaven". shades of fellow behatted hate object jamiroquai on "treasure", feels appropriate. he'd be suited to a cover of "too young to die"

ogmor, Tuesday, 1 January 2013 22:24 (thirteen years ago)

if you don't listen to the radio, this becomes harder to hear

explain this "internet" to me

The Internet carries an extensive range of information resources and services, such as the inter-linked hypertext documents of the World Wide Web (WWW) and the infrastructure to support email, music videos, and photographs of pottery.

pottery, eh? i'll check it out.
