aero was describing how that kind of thing can LOOK to readers regardless of intent and was recommending you consider that when you write, which i agreed with. but if you want to be an either/or absolutist about it, that's cool, i personally think those 2 perspectives are not mutually exclusive.

my main problem with the gucci/jacka stuff is that deej failed to mention 50, who obv plays a huge part in max's lineage

yah i mean im not sure it relates to what i was saying about him in relation to rappers who were his contemporaries, but 50 cent is obv a touchpoint i could have included. i mean what i was trying to say was that like 50 hes a songwriter, but he seperates out the song from the rapper in a way 50 didnt -- 50 did hooks as himself, you know?

I feel like I say this every time and deej I don't mean to blindside you but you have this bizarrely intense need imo to be vindicated by everyone. Like, you can't just drop it that Ship doesn't see eye to eye with you in terms of the jacka and gucci mane, you just have to keep going. And I don't think it's a horrible characteristic on its face -- it works for you when you're constantly evangelizing about music, but when it's about your own points it gets tedious and borders on maniacal imo

like, i get aero's point wasnt per se about me in this instance, but why were we even discussing it? what did it have to do w/ the matter at hand if you were just joking around? it was brought up because you were criticizing something id written -- pretend it was in jest if you want but that makes no sense. we were, in fact, discussing the writing -- so, was i overreacting to 'jokes' or not? cuz i thought we were having a serious discussion

some dude i get a total 'have your cake and eat it too' vibe from this whole thing -- you get to be critical, but can back away when i take offense because you're just joking. i mean, you can claim its a 'persecution complex' but that doesnt explain why it doesnt bother me when flopson or j0rdan say it, but when u do it comes across like criticism.

aero's post had a friendly and familial air that, obviously, left the building soon after. your manner is can be extremely severe, especially when other people are trying to keep the mood light or contribute some levity or just say anything other than "deej otm" without you taking offense.
