and yea, though foul necromancers may keep their forms wretchedly animate like those of cassie and nina sky, only the sad moonlight of our memories shall truly make the marble tomb of electrik red gleam just as their lives once did so very long ago.

transcribing my interview w/naomi from last week, most notable offcut that won't make it in - there will be new stuff in the next few weeks or so, i think remixes of songs they like, and there will be a How To Be A Lady Vol 1.5 mixtape before Vol 2. they're still signed to def jam and sorting things out for the second album atm.
― lex pretend, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 09:51 (fourteen years ago)
Any Terius involvement?
― Number None, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 09:55 (fourteen years ago)
i gather both sides want to make it happen but nothing's definite yet, it's schedule-dependent
don't get the impression it'll be solely terius-helmed
― lex pretend, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 09:57 (fourteen years ago)
Yeah that seemed unlikely. Good to hear it's a possibility though

i skyped with naomi for half an hour on the day amy winehouse died. about two hours after i found out, to be precise. i didn't think transcription could get any more awkward and awful than it usually is but accidentally breaking that news to your interviewee - i thought she'd already know - was a new low. the rest went well though! there are a couple more exciting things in the actual interview.
― lex pretend, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 17:28 (fourteen years ago)
oh they're in talks with "heavy hitter" producers for the album, i asked if she could give any hints as to who and she went "y'know...naw!" <3
― lex pretend, Tuesday, 2 August 2011 17:30 (fourteen years ago)
:D
i was just thinking about them this morning and how i can't wait to hear new stuff, exciting news!

transcribing my interview w/naomi from last week, most notable offcut that won't make it in
oh lol what i thought was the ~big news~ didn't make it in either, obvious the sub-editors didn't think it was big news and it got cut for length!
anyway: kingdom and electrik red will be working together again, next time with the whole group, and there is a possibility that he may produce stuff for their second album

It sank faster than an Electrik Red album. Andre Cymone wrote and produced all of it.
This did a little better -- more proto-ER:

Klymaxx was conceived and formed by Bernadette Cooper, who also chose the name. The dream of an all girl band became a quest she pursued after leaving college. Through many auditions and temporary members the group that became successful consisted of drummer/vocalist Bernadette Cooper, vocalist Lorena Porter (Stewart), bassist/vocalist Joyce Irby, guitarist Cheryl Cooley and keyboardists Lynn Malsby and Robbin Grider.
More recently, Irby has been involved with launching the career of young R&B vocalist and The Inc/Def Jam recording artist Lloyd. Lloyd Polite was once a member of the teen pop group N-Toon, whom Irby put together and signed to Dreamworks Records in the mid-1990s.

Haven't heard the Cooper album. She probably talks through the whole thing.
