Any update on that box set with all the unreleased Glider outtakes, or is that just another urban myth?

i'm just assuming this means they're putting mbv on streaming/maybe reissuing it bc it's out of print, not gonna get my hopes up for anything else

Did anyone buy it on vinyl? Was the pressing good?

the pressing was ok. unfortunately, by the time it arrived at my doorstep, the cover/gatefold had tears and rips in two different places, and a skin on the first track. i love m b v but i will be waiting until i can buy a copy at my local store

Zach_TBD (Karl Malone), Monday, 29 March 2021 19:42 (five years ago)

Spencer Chow, Monday, 29 March 2021 20:16 (five years ago)

Sopranos/MBV crossover?

cajunsunday, Monday, 29 March 2021 20:23 (five years ago)

Actually wouldn't it be something if they were somehow doing the soundtrack to Chase's prequel film?

Ned Raggett, Monday, 29 March 2021 20:31 (five years ago)

Hmm. The fact that Imperioli is in on the inside info certainly brings a new twist, which makes me feel like it's not just a repressing/reissue of m b v. Intriguing, to be sure.

soaring skrrrtpeggios (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Monday, 29 March 2021 21:15 (five years ago)

they are signed to domino

global tetrahedron, Monday, 29 March 2021 21:24 (five years ago)

my guess is reissues/mbv on streaming and a new release later in the year

global tetrahedron, Monday, 29 March 2021 21:25 (five years ago)

Which makes sense, for sure. The Imperioli connection just throws me a little. I know he's a megafan, but still.

soaring skrrrtpeggios (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Monday, 29 March 2021 21:32 (five years ago)

anything from the MBV camp would be terrific, although i am not sure i want kevin to get too distracted by soundtrack work! the new music exists- you can hear studio version of 'new song 2' at the end of this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxkzYCT2NGM

global tetrahedron, Monday, 29 March 2021 22:42 (five years ago)

fingers crossed there's new material on the way too and it's not just announcing that domino is putting everything up on streaming (their discog is currently unavailable everywhere except north america) & probably reissues

the streaming & signed to domino bit is already confirmed: https://www.reddit.com/r/MyBloodyValentine/comments/mf2gs1/mbv_ad_on_german_spotify_europe_where_all_the/

I know ranked lists are highly subjective, but I still can't believe there's no mention of "Only Shallow" or "Loomer" in the Guardian's top twenty.

I can't tell if he's trolling or not (ilxor), Thursday, 2 February 2023 18:48 (three years ago)

I reviewed Loveless when it came out and decided “Loomer” was my favourite track. It’s overlooked too often.

assert (matttkkkk), Thursday, 2 February 2023 19:42 (three years ago)

Alexis was asking us on FB about what we would choose for such a list, my own choice was "Don't Ask Why" (in that all the obvious ones I could think of would likely be in there). I think "Only Shallow" is more of a US thing since that was the actual single as such over here, promowise at least.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 2 February 2023 20:48 (three years ago)

I know these things are daft but Cupid Come and You Never Should

kraudive, Thursday, 2 February 2023 22:28 (three years ago)

I always considered "Lose My Breath" top-tier MBV, and always assumed that was an opinion shared by many fans. But maybe not? Even more befuddling is the omission of "Loomer" and "Cupid Come," as others have already mentioned. Weird list.

Paul Ponzi, Thursday, 2 February 2023 23:11 (three years ago)

goddamn, that’s my favourite Isn’t Anything track as well!!

assert (matttkkkk), Thursday, 2 February 2023 23:24 (three years ago)

You Never Should would be in my top ten

The Triumphant Return of Bernard & Stubbs (Raymond Cummings), Friday, 3 February 2023 00:08 (three years ago)

does "What You Want" count? it's the least listened to track on Loveless via Spotify.

it's tough to call anything on Loveless a deep cut, but to me, it's my very favorite song of theirs and represents so much of what they do incredibly well, at the peak of their powers, all in the same song

Karl Malone, Friday, 3 February 2023 01:12 (three years ago)

its become one of my favs on loveless. "to here knows when" is still my #1 but "loomer and "wyw" are in the top 3 of loveless.

slai gorgeous-alexander (m bison), Friday, 3 February 2023 01:29 (three years ago)

“When You Wake…” and “Touched” are my #1 and #2, respectively

beamish13, Friday, 3 February 2023 02:45 (three years ago)

I’d say all of Tremolo EP

licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Friday, 3 February 2023 09:45 (three years ago)

Had a listen to Wonder II on the back of that list and nope still no good.

Except for "Moon Song". I never liked Kevin's vocals on it.

Lose My Breath is easily my favorite MBV song.

one year passes...

You know how your phone brings up memories? Six years ago today I saw My Bloody Valentine at the Shrine in downtown LA.

Time flies.

Bee OK, Tuesday, 23 July 2024 05:11 (one year ago)

My ears will never be the same. Much louder than the Loveless tour.

Bee OK, Tuesday, 23 July 2024 05:16 (one year ago)

didn't they play the Santa Monica Civic at one point? V jealous of anyone who saw that one.

encino morricone (majorairbro), Tuesday, 23 July 2024 05:21 (one year ago)

I saw them at the Roxy two out of the three nights, Loveless tour. I moved to San Francisco for six years so maybe they played there then?

Bee OK, Tuesday, 23 July 2024 05:29 (one year ago)

I was at that Shrine gig too (along with the second Santa Monic Civic gig). The whole story is in the "Return Of MBV" thread. If I had to single out any one show it would be the Coachella warm-up show at the El Rey.

Elvis Telecom, Tuesday, 23 July 2024 09:14 (one year ago)

Yup, 2008.
