SHAD WINS JUNO AWARD FOR TSOL
BEATS OUT DRAKE FOR RAP RECORDING OF THE YEAR, RELEASES NEW SONG

Vancouver based MC Shad, whose TSOL album was met with almost universal acclaim in hip hop circles upon its release by Decon/Black Box Recordings last year, unexpectedly beat out fellow countryman Drake for "Rap Recording of the Year" at Saturday's Juno awards, the Canadian equivalent of the Grammys. Though the record was a favorite amongst fans and critics alike, most considered Drake a shoo-in after taking the award home last year. In his acceptance speech the clearly dumbfounded Shad remarked "Wow, I'm very surprised. It's like the Emmy going to Theo's friend Cockroach," in a telling display of the humility and cultural cross-referencing that have long been the hallmarks of his work.

Shad took to his blog Monday afternoon to pen a thank you note to his fans and release a new collaborative single with Skratch Bastid, the joyous and smooth soul of "Give You All I Can".

whole album's awesome IMO. certainly not what I expected when I picked it up (I was just looking for listenable).

so on first listen Doggumentary is very bloated as usual, lots of fun hot tracks quite a few 'meh' tracks, think a solid 3.5 stars out of 5 is what I'd give it cuz the solid tracks are pretty damn entertaining. the Willie Nelson track is just....weird. don't dig it.

btw i'm trying to download something from livemixtapes.com for the first time and...apparently guests have to give them access to autopost stuff to your facebook or twitter and members have to give them a valid phone #? this shit is way more invasive and sketchy than anything i ever had to do to download a mixtape on datpiff or any other site.

that happens sometimes but not always, in my experience

usually it's like "wait two minutes to download" or "download now and link this on your twitter"

yeah i was able to sign up w/o giving them my phone # but it still seemed a little beyond the usual demands for info/cooperation
