I mean, blasphemy's pointless, too. But you get some good albums out of it.

GLOWER METAL (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Sunday, 27 March 2011 00:40 (fifteen years ago)

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 27 March 2011 01:31 (fifteen years ago)

Another bad goth album?

Wrote a review of it today for The Wire. It's not bad at all. In fact, it's quite good. Definitely in a Michael-Gira-collaborating-with-Coil vein, but I don't have a problem with that.

that's not funny. (unperson), Sunday, 27 March 2011 01:53 (fifteen years ago)

I have gradually come to the realization that I totally respect Ulver, I just am not much into what they do these days.

GLOWER METAL (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Sunday, 27 March 2011 07:08 (fifteen years ago)

fair enough, I am though!

Algerian Goalkeeper, Sunday, 27 March 2011 16:14 (fifteen years ago)

Ulver's last.fm shoutbox is full of people complaining it's not black metal. After all this time wtf did they expect?

Algerian Goalkeeper, Monday, 28 March 2011 03:51 (fifteen years ago)

black metal, obviously

ilxor you've listened to one odd future album once (ilxor), Monday, 28 March 2011 14:50 (fifteen years ago)

I think he already got the one he was after. btw you listened to it yet?

Algerian Goalkeeper, Monday, 28 March 2011 23:40 (fifteen years ago)

Apologies for the lack of courtesy. Thanx a lot, both of you. When I get around to it, I think I'm going to check out the new one and work back from there. I've been wanting to check it out bcz of the all-time metal poll and bcz of LJ, whose taste I have a lot of respect for. Does anybody know if he ever listened to Six Finger Satellite?

your generation apples me (Drugs A. Money), Tuesday, 29 March 2011 05:05 (fifteen years ago)

"...ben wanting to check The Blood Inside out..."

your generation apples me (Drugs A. Money), Tuesday, 29 March 2011 05:07 (fifteen years ago)

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 29 March 2011 11:43 (fifteen years ago)

6FS q is in reference to an exchange on the Ulver s/d thread.

your generation apples me (Drugs A. Money), Tuesday, 29 March 2011 12:18 (fifteen years ago)

Algerian Goalkeeper, Tuesday, 29 March 2011 12:30 (fifteen years ago)

your generation apples me (Drugs A. Money), Tuesday, 29 March 2011 13:29 (fifteen years ago)

Does anybody know if he ever listened to Six Finger Satellite?

ilxor you've listened to one odd future album once (ilxor), Tuesday, 29 March 2011 14:05 (fifteen years ago)

Oh Shit People Like Your Ballads Oh Nooooo (Drugs A. Money), Tuesday, 29 March 2011 16:37 (fifteen years ago)

AG: I don't know if Gnaw Their Tongues are releasing new material this year or not but Mories has a BM group called De Magia Veterum who have a new album coming out called The Divine Anthithesis and it is mad caustic and has overtones of Celeste, Abruptum and Omega Deathspell. It gave me a really bad headache the first time I listened to it but I really like it now.

Chap With Wings... Five Rounds Rapid (Doran), Tuesday, 29 March 2011 16:51 (fifteen years ago)

Ahhh ok, will need to check that out

Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 30 March 2011 18:12 (fifteen years ago)

Roxy do you know this Ukrainian 1-man depressive BM band?

and the obvious question for Ukrainian BM bands on ilx "are they dodgy?"
lol

Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 30 March 2011 18:16 (fifteen years ago)

If you like atmospheric BM then dig in!

Algerian Goalkeeper, Wednesday, 30 March 2011 20:08 (fifteen years ago)

Listening to Raventale right now and it definitely has a doom feel despite being BM. Apparently the 1st album is basically Drudkh worship but i couldn't find that album. Im listening to the 2nd one just now and enjoying it. I think if you dig Drudkh or Austrasian Goat you will stand a good chance of liking them.

Roxy i bet you know of these guys. Come be all troo kvlt about it!

Algerian Goalkeeper, Thursday, 31 March 2011 00:24 (fifteen years ago)

Ash Borer

Ha, asking for trouble with a name like that.

GLOWER METAL (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Thursday, 31 March 2011 02:37 (fifteen years ago)

why? What does it mean?

Algerian Goalkeeper, Thursday, 31 March 2011 02:38 (fifteen years ago)

apart from being an insect

Algerian Goalkeeper, Thursday, 31 March 2011 02:39 (fifteen years ago)

They Bored my Ash off, etc.

GLOWER METAL (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Thursday, 31 March 2011 04:49 (fifteen years ago)

hmmm

Algerian Goalkeeper, Thursday, 31 March 2011 15:04 (fifteen years ago)

Just ordered the other 2 book of sand cdrs, got a free instant download with one. It was a bit different to the Paradigms release, bit more straightforward atmospheric bm.

The new ep seems to be covers of folk songs. Wonder if the dude is a smolken disciple. He's from j justen country it seems, wonder if you deal with him john?

Algerian Goalkeeper, Friday, 1 April 2011 01:38 (fifteen years ago)

You can listen to it here http://bookofsand.bandcamp.com/album/the-bees-and-the-butterflies

Algerian Goalkeeper, Friday, 1 April 2011 01:41 (fifteen years ago)

adult music person (Jordan), Friday, 1 April 2011 02:28 (fifteen years ago)

its the perfect thread for it. wish i could hear the whole thing, and new Krallice too.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Friday, 1 April 2011 02:34 (fifteen years ago)

liturgy is #1 metal album of the year, to date

hey ilxor, thanks for contributing, glad you stopped by (ilxor), Friday, 1 April 2011 02:39 (fifteen years ago)

hey ilxor, thanks for contributing, glad you stopped by (ilxor), Friday, 1 April 2011 02:40 (fifteen years ago)

The 1st Book Of Sand CDr I really liked, but, from what I've heard, not enjoying the less BMness of the others. Is the Ash Borer thing the tape? Waiting for the vinyl of that.

Wandering Boy Poet, Friday, 1 April 2011 12:53 (fifteen years ago)

you dont like the paradigms book of sand cd? I think that's the best one.

Algerian Goalkeeper, Friday, 1 April 2011 15:00 (fifteen years ago)
