ILXOR Listening Room - DJ my day

How the heck do you upload songs in the new Listening Room? I don't see an upload button anywhere.

The what? I don't see anything like that on the screen...

Finally got my confirmation in the mail but can't figure this out. The only song I've listened to so far is the one which I uploaded... nothing else seems clickable.

I can't even upload one song! Are other people supposed to be in the ILXOR room? I can't see anyone, or hear anything. Looks like it isn't working for me.

Maybe the concept itself confuses me... do we have to be online at the same time in order to listen?

Uploading just requires you click on the record icon with the "+" sign on your left hand side. And apparently is the only thing I actually can click.

Okay, I figured it out. Looks like this version doesn't work on Firefox, just like the previous one didn't. I switched to Chrome, and now I can see the "+" button and upload songs.

I have no idea why it doesn't work on FF though. If I open it there I can't see the upload button, or any other users, nor hear anything. Kinda irritating.

Lol, it's Finnish.

The new version seems to be working quite well, no bugs so far.

it's still buggy, one occasional glitch is when it just stops between songs, then everyone has to remove their queued tracka and reupload to kick it back to life.

Listening Room has become needlessly graphics-heavy, though. Bad move imo.

you guys should really stop by there; I made an ILX ad and everything.

I was in the main Outloud.fm room pretty much from the original post until about two hours ago and it never went down and everything flowed smoothly and I didn't have to look at a bunch of c0rny graphics like little records and a useless turntable.

That kind of thing just drives me to the Back button.

People are seriously going to let an app from someone they don't know decide to follow new people, change their profiles and post tweets just to listen to some tunes?

I think all things that agree to link up with twitter make those concessions, but on their own login page they state "We will NEVER publish to your account feed without you explicitly choosing to do so."

Right now it's just two guys and some helper monkeys, so you should probably ask them about it if you're really that spooked.

Thanks Johnny - I realise these clauses are pretty much standard but I don't like that blanket granting of permission that seems to be everywhere these days. Have you ever seen the crap a mobile phone app asks for?

Yes, thanks for doing that - would definitely like to go back to one of these things but all that permissiveness does give me the major creeps.

Okay, both twitter and fb logins are now read-only on their end. No more crazy permissions being handed over.

Looks cool, but I loved the Euro flavor of the old room, with its little turntable spinning. A nice tribute to the old days of cover art.

The turntable itself in the og Listening Room was a cool idea, but all the records (big ones and little ones) are overkill imo.

Good session. The Pinhas/Merzbow > Nazz segue was a surprise treat.

Yeah, that was sublime.

So, I'm giving this Outloud thing a try, anyone else out there?

Seems to be working much better than Listening Room, great!

Didn't have the opportunity to drop in yesterday. When did they add thumbnail art to the activity feed? I like it. Aesthetically nice but still not cluttery.

tried it. but wonder if my net admins have blocked audio streaming as i can never hear anything.
have tried IE/chrome/FF and the results are the same.
