I love how the song boils down to: yay Friday do I sit in the front or the back seat of the car

VegemiteGrrl, Monday, 14 March 2011 20:45 (fifteen years ago)

Ned Raggett, Monday, 14 March 2011 20:49 (fifteen years ago)

Someone posted the youtube video on tumblr last Thursday or Friday and over the weekend it set the internet aflame.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 14 March 2011 20:49 (fifteen years ago)

omg I was interrupted so I didn't hear the bridge the first time

Ark Music Factory was launched last month by Patrice Wilson and Clarence Jey—pictured here with one of their pop stars-in-training, J’Rose.

I am DYING

VegemiteGrrl, Monday, 14 March 2011 20:53 (fifteen years ago)

DJP I am so ecstatic that you're finally here

you should put together a big choral version of this because if you get it up online by Wednesday it will blow the fuck up

I think ILX could write a 'Friday' song that would out-mundane Friday even.

VegemiteGrrl, Monday, 14 March 2011 20:56 (fifteen years ago)

I know a whole bunch of professional singers and I don't think a single one of them could get through the bridge without wetting themselves

ancient, but very sexy (DJP), Monday, 14 March 2011 21:01 (fifteen years ago)

even better

ullr saves (gbx), Monday, 14 March 2011 21:01 (fifteen years ago)

KICKIN IN THE FRONT SEAT
KICKIN IN THE BACK SEAT

VegemiteGrrl, Monday, 14 March 2011 21:25 (fifteen years ago)

I still hold out hope that the rapper is saying "I BE REBECCA BLACK" because that would make just about as much sense as anything else in this song

ancient, but very sexy (DJP), Monday, 14 March 2011 21:26 (fifteen years ago)

J'Rose rockin the fake frown

for real molars who ain't got no fillings (Hurting 2), Monday, 14 March 2011 21:27 (fifteen years ago)

The guest rapper looks like Gary Sheffield.

taco al pastorius (Steve Shasta), Monday, 14 March 2011 21:31 (fifteen years ago)

Discovered the video at 4 am with a bunch of my fellow students pulling an all-nighter in the library. Weekend-long ILX/internet break meant that our first exposure to it was on no sleep and very little sanity. Laughed so hard I cried. My brain is still singing it.

The rapper swaying along to the beat in the car at the end is an undersung moment.

Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill The Radio Star (Alex in Montreal), Monday, 14 March 2011 21:33 (fifteen years ago)

Also, people who are the most "amazed" at the songwriting/performance of this song probably don't have kids/nephews/nieces and have been subjected to hours of Radio Disney, of which this would probably be a highpoint tbqh.

taco al pastorius (Steve Shasta), Monday, 14 March 2011 21:34 (fifteen years ago)

...or Frank Kogan^^^

There's a certain Phil Oakey quality to the lyrics too

da croupier, Monday, 14 March 2011 21:39 (fifteen years ago)

surprised no one has intercut this with "WHIPPED CREAM POURING LIKE WATERFALLS" yet

ancient, but very sexy (DJP), Monday, 14 March 2011 21:41 (fifteen years ago)
