from what i can tell, ciara was doing a fashion police kinda thing on E! tonight & she must've said something about something rihanna was wearing

also that brief beef happened just as i got back from the rave at 6.30am in a somewhat altered state and i genuinely didn't think i could cope
"did i 4get to tip u #howrudeofme" is clearly the greatest thing anybody has ever said on twitter.
anyway is it likely that demi lovato will release an album this year? please say yes. i want it to be dramatic and tragic and amazing with lots of angry "Got Dynamite"-ish songs. is that too much to ask for.
― uberweiss, Sunday, 27 February 2011 14:48 (fifteen years ago)
it's supposed to come out in the spring, from what she's been saying about the album and what producers she's working with i'm guessing it'll be clubby love songs and not very dramatic or angry
― some dude, Sunday, 27 February 2011 15:04 (fifteen years ago)
the new willow single dropped yesterday fwiw
as suspected, it's not bad, but sadly kinda generic

yeah i am hearing "written in the stars" on the radio a lot now
i am guessing adele will be top 10 on next week's hot 100? she had a ton of exposure during her album release week and it all seemed to work out quite well for her
― teledyldonix, Sunday, 6 March 2011 23:09 (fifteen years ago)
ok so this song is pretty good? dunno who gail scott is beyond "new universal/motown signing", i got this off a ciara RT.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AuBx5fy7Lc
also i'm really feeling the new j-lo! i was not expecting that, everything she's done in the past few years suggested she should quietly bow out of making music with dignity.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4H_Zoh7G5A
like the kim kardash, it succeeds because of how lite her voice is - i love how it actually dares to drop the beat out for longer than you expect, and it sounds so soft and untethered. and of course the woman who gave us "waiting for tonight" over a decade ago is adept at this miami house bizniz. also, is that...an accordion?
― lex pretend, Monday, 7 March 2011 18:09 (fifteen years ago)
lol did ciara rt that and add "hey guys remember "goodies"?????????????"
― pascal's swagger (J0rdan S.), Monday, 7 March 2011 18:11 (fifteen years ago)
oh lol she actually says "goodies" in the song too
― pascal's swagger (J0rdan S.), Monday, 7 March 2011 18:12 (fifteen years ago)
song is pretty aight
― pascal's swagger (J0rdan S.), Monday, 7 March 2011 18:13 (fifteen years ago)
can I just say that Rihanna/Ciara beef rekindled my waning admiration of Rihanna? shit was hilarious
― goth barbershop quartet (DJP), Monday, 7 March 2011 18:14 (fifteen years ago)
is that...an accordion?
That's the sample yes, and the song wouldn't be much without its hook. But then again 'Lambada' is pretty damn catchy.
― abcfsk, Monday, 7 March 2011 18:16 (fifteen years ago)
never would've guessed that this was j lo -- and yes, the slight softness of it is p nice
― pascal's swagger (J0rdan S.), Monday, 7 March 2011 18:16 (fifteen years ago)
haha is this another famous song i've never heard
― lex pretend, Monday, 7 March 2011 18:18 (fifteen years ago)
i am sad b/c all the pretty/soft parts of "on the floor" sound exactly like "stereo love" except with the "lambada" sample substituted. and this song will be a lot bigger than "stereo love" was, at least in america.
― teledyldonix, Monday, 7 March 2011 19:49 (fifteen years ago)

tom ewing proclaimed it the worst album of 2011...so far
― Neu! romancer (dayo), Tuesday, 8 March 2011 07:40 (fifteen years ago)
"price tag" is the worst single of the year by far
― little humma boy (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 8 March 2011 07:43 (fifteen years ago)
astonishingly it's not even the worst on the album
― lex pretend, Tuesday, 8 March 2011 10:01 (fifteen years ago)

― little humma boy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 04:32 (fifteen years ago)
i know lol... this is like the first gossip-relate song i've heard!
and i haven't really been paying attention to new stuff this year so far
but yeah
― The Brainwasher, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 04:35 (fifteen years ago)
their cover of "are you that somebody" is so atrocious
― little humma boy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 04:37 (fifteen years ago)
but it's not like anything has really come out this year
this song is good tho -- she should've showed up the recording sessions for the new hercules & love affair album & tried to convince them that she was antony
― little humma boy (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 9 March 2011 04:39 (fifteen years ago)
I do kind of like how Beth Ditto will do whatever she wants whenever she wants, considering that The Gossip began as a rave-up garage band. I've got no strong opinion either way on her recent solo stuff, but...yeah.
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 04:39 (fifteen years ago)
i find it hard to not get cynical about this beth ditto thing but it's def good

She and Florence are both people I would like to see do proper disco/house/diva music.

I'd like Florence Welch to go away and never been seen or heard from again.

beth yes, florence a very fucking firm NO
― lex pretend, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 08:42 (fifteen years ago)
the gossip's cover of "careless whisper" was great, agree that the "are you that somebody" one was risible
― lex pretend, Wednesday, 9 March 2011 08:43 (fifteen years ago)
I know that supposedly Beth Ditto has this "personality" and is a known singer and whatever, but I could have got into that video so much more if they'd substituted her face with a model's a la Black Box.
I do quite like the song, I just wish she was a bit more anonymous. It reminds me a lot, for some reason, of Billie Ray Martin's "Your Loving Arms", although I really can't find a reason why. How long before this 90s comeback starts to manifest itself in the pop music of today's superstars?
