If, when I did my initial setup, I only selected iTunes as an import source for plays, is there a way to also add my Winamp history? 'Cause the resulting profile is all kinds of skewed.

I've heard about last.fm pulling the plug for a while but last time I checked they were gaining users at a high rate so I don't know about that happening soon

How do you check to see the rate at which they're gaining users?

Could be bullshit obv and it was a bit better in my memory but still it seems to keep growing.

i'd be sad if this shut down but i assume someone else would pick up the torch for at least the personal stats component of it, which is all i care about anyway. it's really neat to have a record of my listening habits for the past 12 years, i don't need to have it social-media-ized though.

Imagine if they shut this down without warning, I could easily see more than a few people having a meltdown because their stats have disappeared.

I'm the reverse, I don't care about the scrobbling only the social media aspects

their "similar artists" algorithm is really really good.

i mean, the results of it is really really good. way deeper and more accurate than anything else on the net i've seen.

It also works fine for me (Vista w/latest iTunes).

I still hate the beta. Last.fm gonna lose a lot of users when they roll it out. I've had access to the beta for 2 or 3 months and its awful. You don't even get the pic of the album cover beside the tracks now.

same, none of my ipod plays get scrobbled, plus the fact that a large portion of my listening is on youtube and this new design = seeya later

i have no idea why they have changed it. as you say, it's hideous.

I'm pretty bummed out about the Android app not working. I use my phone as my portable music player and virtually all my digital listening is done this way, and I really liked having it log all my songs because I use the gig recommendations RSS feed to notify me when bands I like are playing live. That's pretty much the main reason I even have a last.fm account.

Apart from the official app (which has always been shit, but at least it used to scrobble tracks), I've tried Simple last.fm Scrobbler, Scrobb, Last.fm for Android and none of the bastards work.

All I want from Last.FM is for it to log what I listen to over the weeks/months/years and to display this in list form. That's all. And the android app does not do this and never has.

The old Android app used to scrobble for me, certainly worked a lot better than the Itunes scrobbler which never worked from my ipod properly, used to randomly scrobble about 5% of songs I listened to.

Apart from scrobbling the old app was total shit though. The events list had the wrong dates on it! The further in the future the gig was, the more inaccurate the date would be. I dunno how they managed that, probably takes some effort to code something that badly.

it always scrobbled, but you couldn't look at any top-tracks or artists lists, so pointless.

also, my top artists list has never changed since 2011 when for about 6 months everything i listened to scrobbled approx 10 times per play.

So, I've just heard from a good friend of mine that uses this thing quite a lot that apparently they've just rolled out the new site today, but unfortunately it seems that last.fm have decided to not complete work on the site before rolling it out, so the general vibe is that last.fm have half-assed it. I'm hearing about disabled features all over the place, the site generally not working properly and things going missing, coupled with the fact that it doesn't seem like many folks are keen on the new layout to begin with.

I looked over to the last.fm website support forum out of curiosity, and as you'd expect there's plenty of whining.

It looks like some people have had duplicate scrobbles return that they got rid of ages ago, and private messages that they'd deleted returning to their inboxes etc.
